Voters in California and Nebraska will be deciding more than who goes to the White House. Ballots in both states include a question on whether or not to repeal the death penalty. The Washington Post reports:
Voters in California and Nebraska will decide whether they want to keep the death penalty When voters head to the polls in California and Nebraska on Election Day, they will get to weigh in on whether their states should abolish the death penalty. These two initiatives, along with another ballot measure in Oklahoma, represent a sort of microcosm of where things stand nationwide on the death penalty. Most states still have the practice on the books, even if a dwindling number of states actually seek to carry out executions...

Providence College is a Catholic school and for many years had a reputation for being a conservative institution. All that has changed under onslaught from Social Justice Warriors. When Literature professor Anthony Esolen recently wrote some op-eds questioning the way racial segmentation through diversity initiatives were implemented, and how it was undermining the unity of the church, he became the object of the progressive left's two minutes of hate. This is a free speech issue to be sure, but it's about other things as well. Leftists on college campuses know they have power and they're always pushing to see how far they can go with it. Campus Reform reports:
PC faculty try to get conservative colleague fired for opinions Students and faculty at a Catholic college are up in arms over a professor suggesting that Catholic unity is more important than cultural diversity. In a September op-ed for Crisis Magazine, a Catholic publication, Literature professor Anthony Esolen argues that society’s increasing focus on the secular culture of ethnicity undermines unity within the Church.

The rift between Hillary and Bernie Sanders supporters may not be as healed as Democrats would like to think. In the video below, a young man who identifies himself as a Bernie fan speaks at a Hillary event and trashes her before being removed from the stage. The Daily Caller has the details:

Professor Nancy Shurtz of the University of Oregon is in hot water right now over her choice to dress as a black man for a campus Halloween party. In her defense, she claims she chose the costume based on a book she liked called "Black Man in a White Coat" which was written by a black doctor. As someone who covers college news on a daily basis, I have to wonder how the professor didn't know this would cause huge problems for her. Paul Caron of the TaxProfBlog shared a letter to Shurtz from 23 Oregon law professors calling on her to resign:
Dear Colleague, If these allegations are true, and you did in fact wear blackface to a Halloween party, you need to resign.
