I have to hand it the GOP, I did not expect the Republican National Convention to be as effective and good as it was. It was the greatest show on earth for those four nights, driving home messaging that was extremely damaging to Joe Biden and reaching out to voter groups that are not traditional Republican voters.

Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has returned a Kennedy family award following criticism for her alleged 'transphobic' views. The author, who received the 2019 Ripple of Hope award by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation for her work with a UK children's charity, was attacked by the media and activists for her 'anti-trans' comments where she dared to make a distinction between biological women and transgender.

The Republican National Convention defied expectations. The line-up of speakers was inspiring, the production quality was excellent, and it was much more dynamic than the Democratic National Convention. It was apparently also a hit with donors, who gave $76 million to the Trump campaign throughout the week.

The last we checked in on Sarah Palin's defamation lawsuit against the NY Times over a false editorial blaming an electoral map used by Palin for the shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords by Jared Loughner. As we reported at the time of the shooting, there was no connection, it was a fabrication of left-wing bloggers that made its way into the mainstream.
