When Trump won the election, most people believed that the Obama inspired boom in gun sales was over. Early gun sales statistics in 2017 seemed to support that theory. Now the final numbers are in and it turns out early speculation was incorrect. 2017 was a fantastic year for gun sales.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), also a member of the committee, have asked the Department of Justice to investigate Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous dossier on then-candidate Donald Trump. The senators told the DOJ that they believe Steele made false statements to the FBI concerning his talks with news outlets about the dossier.

The Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula has been attacking the Egyptian military and is responsible for massacres of civilians. There has been a symbiotic relationship between ISIS and Hamas, which controls the adjoining Gaza strip. Military supplies from Iran and Hezbollah are smuggled through the Sinai into Gaza for Hamas, and Hamas is accused by the Egyptians of helping ISIS. Many of Hamas' best fighters have defected to ISIS, as The Times of Israel reported in February 2017:

President Donald Trump's Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched a new investigation into the Clinton Foundation over "pay to play" allegations. Over the past year or so, Judicial Watch has dumped numerous emails when failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state under President Barack Obama and quite a few showed connections between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary.

Unregulated migration may be responsible for the rise in violent crimes in Germany, a study commissioned by the German government claims. The researchers used the state of Lower Saxony to examine the correlation between the refugee arrivals and violent crimes between 2014 and 2016, a period during which such crimes surged by 10.4 percent. More than 90 percent of these additional crimes were attributed to the newly arrived refugees.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who absolutely loves the war on drugs, has decided to eliminate President Barack Obama's marijuana policy that led to numerous states legalizing the plant. The Associated Press reported that Sessions will allow "federal prosecutors where pot is legal decide how aggressively to enforce federal marijuana laws."
