Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro has launched a series of long form interviews called the "Sunday Special." Prior guests included Jordan Peterson, Joe Rogan and Adam Carolla. One of his recent episodes featuring Dennis Prager talking about God and the Bible was particularly fascinating and I recommend watching them all.

An estimated 126,000 illegal immigrants set for deportation from Germany have slipped through the fingers of immigration authorities, German Federal Police office (BKA) disclosed. German police hope that some of these illegal immigrants may have voluntarily left the country, German newspaper Die Welt reported. The scenario of illegal immigrants “self-deporting” themselves out of Germany is most unlikely. It is more probable that many of these fugitives have acquired new identities and are drawing welfare from the state. As past Legal Insurrection reports indicate, it is very easy for asylum seekers to get multiple identities in Germany thanks to the bureaucratic chaos resulting from Chancellor Angela Merkel's open door migrant policy.

The wildfires are still raging in California, and six people are reported dead and at least 19 are missing. Tragically, the dead include a great-grandmother who was trying the save the lives of her two great-grandchildren. They were killed in the blaze that is burning near Redding, which has been named the Carr Fire.
The bodies of Melody Bledsoe, 70, and her great-grandchildren, James Robert, 5, and Emily Roberts, 4, were recovered from Bledsoe's home in Redding, relatives said.

I'm still having a difficult time wrapping my head around this one. There exist parents that are attempting to raise their children as gender neutral, thus allowing them to choose their own genders later in life. "Theybies" is what this new parenting technique is called.

It's hard to believe, but my first post here at Legal Insurrection was on June 5, 2013. Naturally, it was a post covering the murder trial of George Zimmerman, after Professor Jacobson noticed some of my comments on his own posts and kindly invited me to contribute to the site. I ended up watching every moment of the trial and reviewing every piece of evidence, and wrote about the trial and surrounding events rather extensively.

Monday, Sen. Rand Paul announced he would vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Paul was the only Senate Republican to openly discuss his reservations about supporting Kavanaugh (mostly due to his concerns about his favorite amendment and one he's made a career championing and filibustering on behalf of -- the fourth amendment) but promised he'd keep an open mind.
