A federal judge in Hawaii has just granted in part, and denied in part, the State of Hawaii's motion to enforce an injunction issued prior to the Supreme Court ruling as to Trump's Travel Order No. 2. The key issue was who would be considered to have a "bona fide" connection to the United States under the Supreme Court ruling, such that they would be excluded from Travel Order No. 2 restrictions on entry. If there's anything I learned from studying about and in the Soviet Union during college, it was that things were never as they seemed. There always seemed to be a manipulation and deception, whether for a specific purpose or just because they could. Kind of like the Clintons. Which leads me to the Donald Trump, Jr. meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. My initial thoughts were in my post, Trump Jr. emails show amateurishness, but not “collusion” or illegality.

I have written often, and recently, about the corrosive effect of the Southern Poverty Law Center's highly-politicized "hate" and "extremist" lists. Politico also recently focused on the problem, which I described in Southern Poverty Law Center “extremist” lists used “to silence speech and speakers”, including this quote from the Politico article:

Credit where credit's due: the HuffPost (now just HuffPost since founder Ariana Huffington parted ways) is launching a bus tour, stopping in 23 cities so their reporters (or bloggers) can find the answer to this burning question: What does it mean to be American today? The bus tour turned mobile video studio hopes to showcase "what we share as Americans, rather than what divides us."

Last week, the left in Illinois celebrated when the Senate and House overturned Republican Governor Bruce Rauner's veto of the massive income tax hike and budget bill that concentrated on education. This is the first time in three years the cash-strapped state has a budget. Now Rauner and the Democrats will head back to the table to discuss education funding. The bill that passed the House and Senate already has faced criticism that it favors Chicago schools (shocking, right?) over others.

Thursday, the Senate Budget Committee released a revamped version of the Better Care Reconciliation Act, or the Senate's version of the AHCA. The Senate GOP's first attempt (in this round of discussions) at the BCRA was met with mehs and groans across the caucus. A small contingent of conservative Senators opposed the bill saying it did little to repeal Obamacare. More moderate Republicans expressed concern over the bill's promise to eventually cut Medicaid. And others advocated for scrapping the whole bill for a clean Obamacare repeal.

Nothing describes German Chancellor Angela Merkel government’s current approach to counter the growing Islamist terrorism more precisely than the idiom 'letting the fox guard the hen house.' In its latest move, the government is funding an 'anti-terror workshop' in Berlin and inviting clerics serving the Iranian Mullah regime to preside over the event. “Federal government supports terror accomplices,” Germany’s leading newspaper Bild commented. Questioning Merkel's government's anti-terror strategy, the newspaper asks: “Does [the] federal government want to confront radicalisation of Muslims in Germany with the help of Islamist Mullah Regimes?” The taxpayer-funded workshop is being organised by local Islamic groups with close ties to Iranian Regime, Bild reported.

Russia, Russia, Russia. We're here to talk about Trump/Russia: get it? Don't go distracting us with talk of the DNC working with Ukraine to dig up dirt on Trump! This morning on CNN, Alisyn Camerota and John Berman co-hosted a segment with Jason Miller, a former Trump campaign aide, and Dem consultant Hilary Rosen. Miller tried to raise this Politico story, which reported that Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary, meeting with a DNC consultant to research damaging information on Trump and his advisers.

I saw the photo in the Featured Image above (without the caption). I'm not sure where, guessing Twitter. When I saw it, my thought was something along the lines of "that's not a good look for Trump, feeds the anti-Trump narrative about Russia." I didn't pay it a lot of attention, but I distinctly remember it and my reaction. It turns out it's a fake. Here is the original Getty Images photo (via Evan McMurry on Twitter)

Democrat Oregon Governor Kate Brown is expected to sign House Bill 3391-B which will make abortion free for all, residents and non-residents of the state. From LifeSite News:
The law would force health insurers to cover abortions without any co-pay and give more than $10 million for abortions and other “reproductive services” to Medicaid. Pro-lifers predict that most of the $10 million will go to Planned Parenthood.
