See update below: Scarborough rips 'hallelujah chorus' dismissing Rice controversy ------------------------------ Move over, Democrats. There's a new opposition party in town. And its name is CNN. Opening his show this morning with a discussion of the emerging controversy over the unmasking of the names of Trump associates in intelligence intercepts, Chris Cuomo said, "so President Trump wants you to believe that he is the victim of a 'crooked scheme.' Those are his words. And here are our words: there is no evidence of any wrongdoing." So it's Trump's words vs. "our words." As if Trump and CNN are two opposing political movements.

I appeared earlier today on America Talks Live, with Steve Malzberg. The discussion centered on two big developments today, the reports that Susan Rice "unmasked" Trump campaign and transition officials names from intelligence reports, and the Neil Gorsuch nomination and the threat of a filibuster. On Rice, Steve used my post earlier today, Susan Rice unmasked? Previously said “I know nothing about” Nunes allegations. Here are some of my comments:

Several weeks ago a series of fliers appeared on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Most of the hateful fliers disparaged American Jews as privileged whites and connected this alleged ‘Jewish privilege’ to social injustice in the U.S. Others drew on classic antisemitic tropes of Holocaust denial and the new form of Jew-hatred in which Israel is compared to Nazi Germany. In a statement, university administrators condemned the antisemitic fliers that "defame, insult and negatively portray Jewish members of our campus community." They're reportedly conducting a full investigation, but as of this writing those responsible for creating and distributing the fliers are still unknown.

Back in September 2016 Terence Crutcher — a quite large black man — was shot and killed by white police officer Betty Shelby in Tulsa OK. I covered the case evidence in a prior post, Legal Game Changer: Terence Crutcher had “High Levels” of PCP when shot by OK police. Included in that post is an extensive discussion of the history and legal significance of a suspect not obeying instructions and returning to his vehicle.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali was slated to begin her tour of Australia on Monday with an ABC Australia's "Q and A" issues discussion program. The show's tweet indicated that plans had changed abruptly, and it seems the reason is based on security concerns.
Hirsi Ali’s Hero of Heresy tour was due to begin in Brisbane on Thursday, before taking her to Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

The American Studies Association (ASA), which is run by anti-Israel activists from academia, was the first (and only) significant-sized American faculty association to adopt the academic boycott of Israel. A few very small groups also have adopted the boycott, but attempts to reach larger organizations, such as the Modern Language Association, American Anthropological Association and American Historical Association, have failed. Legal Insurrection was at the forefront of covering ASA's December 2013 vote and the reaction, including the rejection of the boycott by over 250 university presidents and numerous major university organizations.

Friday, the Senate will hold a confirmation vote fo Trump Supreme Court nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch. Senate Democrats are feverishly working to whip up enough votes to filibuster Gorsuch's confirmation. As it stands, Senate Democrats are still short the votes need to block Gorsuch's ascension to the Supreme Court.

Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice, infamous for lying repeatedly on national television about the Benghazi attack being the result of a video, may be at the center of the "unmasking" scandal uncovered by Congressman Devin Nunes. We covered yesterday how Dems want Devin Nunes removed, but can’t unhear unmasking allegations. Sources now say that only one explosion occurred between two stations at a St. Petersburg, Russia, underground train station. Ten people have died:
"There was one blast in one site in between (stations) as the train arrived at the Technology Institute station from Sennaya (Ploshchad) station," the source told Reuters.
President Vladimir Putin was scheduled to meet with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in the city today.
