One of the industries that has been most impacted by the aftermath of the 2016 election has been the tattoo removal business. At the end of last year, Kemberlee Kaye noted that many millennials were consulting plastic surgeons to remove now unwanted body art. As we head toward President Trump's 100th day in office, and it is apparent he is continuing his policies of having Immigration and Customs Enforcement actually enforce federal law, tattoo removal experts are now seeing a different kind of client: Illegal aliens.

We have covered the case of Rasmea Odeh for the past two and one half years. Rasmea was convicted of the 1969 supermarket bombing in Jerusalem that killed Edward Joffe and Leon Kanner. The evidence against Rasmea was overwhelming, and has become even more so with recent video interviews with her co-conspirators who described Rasmea's involvement. Rasmea's claim that she only confessed after 25 days of sexual torture is contradicted by the evidence that she in fact confessed after just one day, and there was substantial other corroborating evidence.

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) appeared this morning on Meet the Press and announced that the Republicans are unlikely to reach the 60 votes needed to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.   Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-) later appeared on the same show and announced that Gorsuch would indeed be confirmed and that it would happen as early as this week. The NY Daily News reports:
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Sunday that President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, likely won’t get the 60 Senate votes he needs for confirmation — even as the GOP ensured Gorsuch is a go.

Devin Nunes is now the object of Democrat ire because of his claim that he has seen evidence that presents a possible problem with "unmasking" names of Trump campaign and administration officials by the Obama administration unrelated to Russia. The allegations are explosive and could open up a wide investigation of Obama administration officials. That is not what Democrats want, they want investigations focused solely on the as yet unproven claim that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the campaign.

A few hundred people showed up outside Ivanka Trump's Washington DC home for the "Queer Dance Party for Climate Justice" hosted by WERK for Peace. Fox News reports:
Hundreds of people protested in front of Ivanka Trump’s Washington D.C. home on Saturday for “climate justice.” LGBTQ activists hosted a “dance party” protest to “send the clear message that our climate and our communities matter,” a detailed Facebook event said.

An Al Sharpton guest has the early lead for today's most simultaneously inflammatory and nonsensical statement. Ras Baraka, mayor of Newark, NJ, said that in clamping down on sanctuary cities such as his, the Trump administration is "trying to intimidate us into being what I've called fugitive slave catchers." Not only is the image abhorrent, it is utterly illogical. By enforcing the immigration laws, the Trump admin is not seeking to force illegal immigrants into uncompensated labor. To the contrary, the goal is to deport them.

It turns out the "March for Science" scheduled to happen later this month is nothing more than another progressive experiment in identity politics. It's like the Women's March, but with science! The event is scheduled for April 22nd and there's already a battle for dominance among leadership. Bill Nye is often held up by the left for his politics but he's being pushed aside for a leadership role in the march because after all, he's a white male. Heat Street reports:

Russian Poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko has died at age 84. He was resident at the University of Tulsa, and died in a hospital in Oklahoma City. I think it's hard for Americans to understand the celebrated role that poets occupy in Russian history, including the dissident movement that began to develop in the 1950s and 1960s. I experienced some of that when studying Russian language and literature in the 1970s and early 1980s, and studying in Moscow in 1980. The vast sweep of Yevtushenko life work was somewhat overwhelmed by the power and stature of Yevtushenko’s 1961 poem about the Nazi massacre of over 33,000 Jews in just two days on September 29-30, 1941, at Babi Yar, a ravine near Kiev in the Ukraine. Fox News has reported that another doctor has claimed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has retaliated against him after he revealed wrongdoings at the hospital for which he works. Dr. Dale Klein "works" at the Southeast Missouri John J. Pershing VA in Poplar Bluff, MO, but that work consists of staring at a blank wall all day because as he told the inspector general there are "secret wait-lists and wait-time manipulation" at the VA.
