Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has delivered his plan to replace Obamacare. The GOP wants to repeal the law as soon as possible, but Paul has urged the party to wait until they have a proper replacement plan in place to activate. He also noted that President Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) agree with him. The Hill reported:
Paul’s plan includes a tax credit of up to $5,000 per person to use as part of a Health Savings Account to pay for medical care. That tax credit appears to be larger than those offered in other Republican healthcare plans.

Top officials have resigned at the State Department before the Senate has confirmed former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. The Washington Post reported:
Then suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, [undersecretary for management Patrick] Kennedy and three of his top officials resigned unexpectedly, four State Department officials confirmed. Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions, followed him out the door. All are career foreign service officers who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has canceled a trip to the United States after President Donald Trump told him to if Mexico refuses to pay for the border wall. Translation: This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the @POTUS.

An employee of Migrant Reception Agency in the German state of Lower Saxony lost her job after she raised alarm upon uncovering around 300 cases in which her agency had been making fraudulent cash payments to 'refugees' for over a period of several months, Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reports. Migrant Reception Agency tried to hush up the crimes by burying the evidence and firing the whistleblower. With only eight months to go for the country's parliamentary election, Chancellor Angela Merkel and her government are keen to avoid negative media coverage connected to their overly generous 'Refugee Policy'.

If this weren't so infuriating, it might be funny . . . Appearing on CNN this morning to discuss President Trump's plan to cut funds to sanctuary cities, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio implied that the city will not cooperate in the deportation of thieves who don't use violence because they might be the "breadwinners" of their families. Message to the mayor: thieves aren't bread "winners." They are bread stealers. They're taking bread from the mouths of children whose family earned it legally. In this theater of the absurd, de Blasio held up a list of crimes for which NYC would cooperate with immigration authorities. And non-violent theft is apparently not on the list.

Legal Insurrection readers will recall that during its last few hours, the Obama administration sent $221 million to the Palestinian Authority that GOP members of Congress had been blocking. Team Trump has now frozen those monies.
The Trump administration has informed the Palestinian Authority that it is freezing the transfer of $221 million which was quietly authorized by the Obama administration in its final hours on January 20, a senior Palestinian source has told The Times of Israel.

Last summer, I reported that Food and Drug Administration rules covering e-cigarettes and adopted early in the Obama presidency were killing the related American industry. The manufacturer, distribution and retail sales of e-cigarettes (which vaporizes nicotine-infused solutions that have only traces of some of the 60-plus carcinogens found in cigarette smoke), is worth an estimated $3.7 billion last year. In San Diego alone, e-cigarette firms employ hundreds of Californians in productive, middle-class positions, and generate quite a bit of tax revenue for the state as well.

The Women's March on Washington, and in many other mostly liberal cities, is being portrayed as the launch of a new "resistance" to Donald Trump and Republicans. The use of the term "resistance" is not by accident. It conjures up the heroism and selflessness of the French Resistance and the Resistance movements in other Nazi-occupied countries. Since Trump is equated to Hitler in so much of liberal rhetoric, it is -- in their minds -- the appropriate analogy.

It's certainly understandable that so much attention has focused on Elizabeth Warren's claim to be Native American for employment purposes as she was climbing the law professor ladder. It's a story which exposes her weak spot -- she has perfected the politics of victimhood, yet she victimized one of the most historically victimized groups, the Cherokee, by using their identity to aid her career. Her inability to acknowledge what she did and apologize reveals a character trait that is not very becoming.

Is anyone shocked? Pro-abortion females descended upon Washington, D.C., to protest rights they already have and the media went wild. These females received all the attention they wanted and then some. Now, on Friday, tens to hundreds of thousands will come to D.C. as they do every year. No matter the weather, these people march every year. Every year it gets bigger. Yet the media ignores them. That's because these people participate in the March For Life against abortion, the act that literally denies a human being the right to life. The most basic human right. Even more disturbing? The majority of those unborn lost to abortion are females. More irony? These feminists backed a woman who remains married to a man who has a long list of women who have accused him of rape and sexual assault.

This is the best ad Planned Parenthood, the country's premier abortion purveyor, has ever made. "A Grateful Mom" released a few days ago tells the story of Adeline, a woman who went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. When she arrived to have the baby removed from her womb, she was so distraught, the abortion doctor told her to go home, think about it, and reschedule. But she never rescheduled. Instead, she became a mother and is thankful she chose life. And yes, this is a Planned Parenthood ad.
