Remember that viral video of a kid supposedly taunting a Native American Vietnam vet? Yeah, it didn't take long for people to realize there was more to the story. Well, since the media and everyone else went on a rampage against him, the student identified himself as Nick Sandmann, a junior from Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky. He attended the March for Life rally with other students. Sandmann explained his side of the story as those in Hollywood and the media quietly delete their nasty and hateful tweets aimed at the high school kid.

The internet blew up over a (as it turns out) heavily-edited clip of white male Catholic March for Life high schoolers apparently taunting, mocking, and otherwise behaving badly toward a Native American elder.  Even many on the right condemned the MAGA hat-wearing boys for their perceived vile behavior. The problem?  We didn't get the whole story, and many people, including those on the left, are now expressing their regret at jumping too readily to condemn these boys.  As it turns out and in the true spirit of "unexpectedly," there is much more to this story than we were first treated to in the initial reports.

Alleged prostitute Anastasia Vashukevich, also known as Nastya Rybka,was detained last year in Thailand on charges related to soliciting for sex and conspiracy to solicit.  At the time of her arrest and subsequent plea, she claimed to have video and audio tape evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 U. S. presidential election. She has now retracted that claim and apologized for making a false claim.  It's not clear why she initially made this claim, but reports suggest that she was trying to leverage this purported "evidence" into a lesser charge/sentence.

Two supposed bombshell reports about Trump-Russia collusion rocked the media news cycle this weekend, but as all of the other bombshells dropped by the media, there is a lot less to the reports than the hype suggests. The hype has given rise to a Manchurian Candidate accusation against Trump, that he is an agent of some sort of the Russians, with Vladimir Putin his controller.

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway is having none of CNN's Jim Acosta. Acosta routinely uses press conferences and even event in which cameras are rolling (even the White House Easter Egg Roll) to create a scene, with the ultimate goal of making himself the story. Conway, like most of us who cover this day-in, day-out, was just done.

Did you hear the one about Republicans trying to shame Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her college dance video, and being angry about it? That claim echoed through many mainstream media outlets late last week into the weekend. But it was a media fabrication, Fake News in the worst, most devious way intended to shape public perception. Multiply this incident by thousands of times, and you can understand how manipulative mainstream media is, and how major news outlets are able to frame a narrative of evil, mean Republicans that influences our politics, particularly among younger people.

Media bias against Republicans has always existed but has reached a new high in the age of Trump. Talking heads on cable news frequently blur the lines between news and opinion. Supposed journalists openly root against Trump and for his opponents. It has gotten so bad that even Jill Abramson, the former executive editor of the New York Times is calling out the "paper of record" over bias.

One key part of the so-called Steele Dossier on Donald Trump was a reference to Trump lawyer Michael Cohen attending a summer 2016 collusive meeting in Prague to seek Russian help for Trump's campaign. It's something Cohen repeatedly has denied, including under oath. Cohen not only denies such a meeting, he denies EVER having been to Prague. While Cohen has been prosecuted for some lies under oath, he has not been charged -- so far -- with lying about Prague.

German weekly Der Spiegel has fired an award-winning journalist for faking news stories for years, the publication said Wednesday. "Claas Relotius, a reporter and editor, falsified his articles on a grand scale and even invented characters, deceiving both readers and his colleagues," Der Spiegel disclosed.

In April of this year, Laura Ingraham of FOX News faced a full-blown boycott campaign for being mildly critical of David Hogg. Just last week, comedian Kevin Hart lost his gig as host of the Oscars when the media dredged up gay jokes he made on Twitter years ago. Yesterday, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's Morning Joe, used a gay slur to describe Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Where is the angry mob? Why does Mika get a pass?

NPR posted the type of "scoop" story that has become common among journalists trying to out-do each other in going after all things Trump: "Trump Jr.'s 2017 Testimony Conflicts With Cohen's Account Of Russian Talks." The point of the story, however, was premised on a clear misreading of the transcripts because there is no conflict between the testimonies of Donald Trump, Jr. and Michael Cohen.
