What happens to every rubric of U. S. economic, national security, and social policy when a key demographic is revealed to be not only wildly wrong but is doubled?  We’re about to find out. A new study released by Yale University and MIT reveals that the previously accepted number of illegal aliens in the U.S. represents only half the actual number.

The European Union parliament has overwhelmingly voted to censure Hungary over alleged "breaches of the EU's core values." The vote triggered the "Article 7" procedure of the EU constitution, paving the wave for economic sanctions and other punishing measures. The EU parliamentarians voted 448 to 197 in support of a resolution that accused "Hungary of threatening the rule of law by hampering press and academic freedoms, cracking down on NGO funding and denying rights to minorities and migrants," European media reports said. Parliamentarians cheered and applauded at the read out of the vote. It is the first time the punitive article has been triggered by parliament against an EU member.

The fatal stabbing of a German by a group of migrants has triggered riots in the eastern German city of Chemnitz. Several thousand demonstrators took to the streets on Monday night calling for an end to Chancellor Merkel's open borders policy, media reports say.

Data from Swedish state TV station, SVT, revealed that 58% of men convicted of rape and attempted rape in Sweden were born abroad. From the BBC:
The Mission Investigation programme, due to be broadcast on Wednesday by SVT, said the total number of offenders over five years was 843. Of those, 197 were from the Middle East and North Africa, with 45 coming from Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, authorities in Iowa believe they discovered the body of 20-year-old college student Mollie Tibbetts, who went missing on July 18 while on a jog. A medical examiner still needs to conduct an autopsy, but the authorities arrested an illegal immigrant and charged him with first degree murder. CNN host John Berman asked Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) about immigration laws and she responded with some sympathy for Tibbetts' family, but then went on an attack on how illegal immigrants are treated at the border.

University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbets went missing more than a month ago. The police discovered her body today and charged an illegal immigrant with first degree murder. From The Daily Caller:
Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, was charged with murder. He had resided in the area for four to seven years, officials said. He led investigators to the body’s location after confirming that he interacted with her while she was running and she felt threatened by him. Rivera said he “blacked out” at some point during their interaction, officials said.

Yesterday, ICE arrested an illegal alien who was in the process of driving his pregnant wife to the hospital; ICE later stated that the man was picked up on an outstanding warrant for murder in his native Mexico. The media ran with the story, focusing on the "outrage" of arresting him while his wife was left to drive herself to the hospital.

An estimated 126,000 illegal immigrants set for deportation from Germany have slipped through the fingers of immigration authorities, German Federal Police office (BKA) disclosed. German police hope that some of these illegal immigrants may have voluntarily left the country, German newspaper Die Welt reported. The scenario of illegal immigrants “self-deporting” themselves out of Germany is most unlikely. It is more probable that many of these fugitives have acquired new identities and are drawing welfare from the state. As past Legal Insurrection reports indicate, it is very easy for asylum seekers to get multiple identities in Germany thanks to the bureaucratic chaos resulting from Chancellor Angela Merkel's open door migrant policy.

Michael Anton, a lecturer and research fellow at Hillsdale College and a former national security official in the Trump administration. Anton also was the pseudonymous author of The Flight 93 Election article that cause a stir prior to the 2016 election. Earlier this month, Anton penned an op-ed in the Washington Post in which he argued that birthright citizenship was not a constitutional requirement.  The op-ed generated a great deal of discussion, prompting Anton to explain and defend his argument to critics on both the left and the right.

Hungary has decided to quit the United Nations migration pact ahead of its final approval. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto slammed the UN-backed accord as a “threat to the world” and “entirely against” his country's national interests. “This document is entirely against Hungary’s security interests,” he said. “This pact poses a threat to the world from the aspect that it could inspire millions [of illegal migrants].”

Authorities arrested Orlando Vilchez Lazo, 36, who allegedly posed as a Lyft driver in San Francisco, CA, in order to lure victims. Lazo received four counts of felony of rape. ICE said he is in the country illegally and "plans to deport" him back to "Peru if he's released from custody on the rape case."
