Despite former Attorney General Eric Holder referring to himself in that role as then-president Obama's "wingman," Democrats have been swooning for the nearest fainting couch over a few tweets from President Trump regarding the Roger Stone sentencing recommendation.  They claim to be outraged because Trump, they screech, is undermining DOJ independence.

Back in 2012, the Republican controlled House of Representatives filed a civil suit after the Department of Justice under then-Attorney General Eric Holder refused to hand over documents related to Operation Fast and Furious. President Barack Obama invoked executive privilege over the documents. Operation Fast and Furious allowed 2000 weapons, monitored by the ATF, to land in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. A cartel member used one of these guns to kill Border Patrol Brian Terry in December 2010. Another gun-running scheme led to the death of ICE Agent Jaime Zapata. Now as the Democrat controlled House fights for the unredacted report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, in which President Donald Trump invoked executive privilege, we received word the two sides settled their 2012 lawsuit.

The Democrats are looking for a fight. Their leadership and base has encouraged street harassment of Republicans, and their candidates are following suit. Likely Democrat presidential candidates are falling all over each other trying to show who will be the most aggressive in going after Republicans.

GREAT NEWS! The man accused of murdering Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010 was extradited from Mexico to the U.S. Suspect Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes allegedly used a gun from Operation Fast & Furious, a gun-running scheme established under former Attorney General Eric Holder's Department of Justice. He will face charges of first degree murder and have an arraignment in Tucson, Arizona.

In February 2011, the Obama/Holder DOJ abruptly announced it would refuse to continue defending the Defense of Marriage Act after years of arguing in Court that DOMA was constitutional. In defending DOMA for years, the DOJ was upholding an important principle, that DOJ should defend existing laws in court so long as there was any reasonable basis for doing so.

Former attorney general Eric Holder is reportedly thinking of throwing his hat into the ring for the 2020 election. The roster of candidates who will run as Democrats will likely be very far left, so he'll fit right in.

Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder gave the appearance of partisan hackery and outright corruption since early in his tenure at the Department of Justice.  According to Holder, we are a "nation of cowards" for not focusing on race and racial "justice," and we need to "brainwash" Americans to hate and fear guns.

Remember Eric Holder, Obama's Attorney General. He down-played and lied about his and Obama's Fast and Furious fiasco, refused to prosecute Black Panthers for voter intimidation, pursued prosecution of journalists and labeled one a "c0-conspirator," used his taxpayer-financed "slush fund" to funnel money to Obama allies until it was dismantled by AG Jeff Sessions.  Holder also holds the dubious distinction of being the first sitting cabinet member to be held in (both criminal and civil) contempt of Congress.

Under Eric Holder, the DOJ established a scheme by which the Executive could bypass Congress' power of the purse and funnel money to Obama's political allies. Companies targeted by the DOJ would agree to settlements, and part of the financial settlement was then ordered to be paid to left-wing interest groups such as La Raza. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has a put a stop to this "slush fund." Writing in 2015, the Wall Street Journal explained the slush fund scheme.
Republicans talk often about using the “power of the purse” to rein in a lawless Obama administration. If they mean it, they ought to use their year-end spending bill to stop a textbook case of outrageous executive overreach.
