Five years ago, on August 9, 2014, Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, by police officer Darren Wilson. The death, and the claim that Brown was shot with his hands up asking not to shoot, sparked riots and launched the Black Lives Matter Movement to national prominence. But the narrative was based on a lie. Brown was shot because he attacked and attempted to take Wilson's pistol. His hands weren't up, and he didn't ask not to shoot, as an Obama-Holder Justice Department investigation later proved.

Rahm Emanuel once famously said that you should never let a crisis go to waste. Democrats have apparently taken that message to heart. The DNC and Democratic candidates sent out fundraising emails after the two shootings over the weekend.

On Saturday, 24-year-old Connor Betts went on a shooting rampage in Dayton, OH. He killed nine people, including his sister, and injured 27. Like other murderers, the actions of Betts did not surprise those who knew him. In fact, classmates and acquaintances knew for a long time Betts had it in him to cause so much death. His Twitter account lavished praise on Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and hatred on President Donald Trump along with ICE and the police.

The second round of Democrat presidential debates have caused even more clown car chaos for a party clearly struggling to find its footing. Not only was the second round of debates a ratings failure for CNN, but the candidates on night one were called out for being too extreme by their own party and the candidates on night two assailed Obama. Both the extremism and the attacks on Obama have stirred leftists to respond.

Health care took center stage at the Democratic debate on Tuesday night. The loudest voices, mainly Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, yelled for Medicare for All while demonizing private insurance companies. A few of the other candidates attempted to remind them that private insurance has satisfied many people. Warren and Sanders refused to listen, but David Axelrod, a former advisor to President Barack Obama, cautioned the Democrats that most people oppose Medicare for All along with a few other radical talking points.

I appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to talk about Elizabeth Warren's representation of Dow Chemical in breast implant litigation, and how she has not been forthright about her role. She portrays herself as having fought for the women, when the reality was quite different. The Washington Post recently published an investigation that confirmed my prior reporting that Warren's representation of Dow Chemical, the parent corporation of the breast implant manufacturer, Dow Corning, was not to help the women.

Timing is everything in politics, and Elizabeth Warren received a huge break when a devastating Washington Post investigation of Warren's legal practice when she was a law professor was published on Monday, July 15, 2019. That was the day after Trump's tweets telling four congresswomen "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how...." The investigation confirmed and expanded on Legal Insurrection's reporting from 2012 that in her private legal practice Warren worked against breast implant victims, not for them as she claimed. It was part of a pattern of Warren representing major corporations against the people Warren claims to care about, before she launched her political career.

Senator Elizabeth Warren brought in a massive $19 million second quarter fundraising haul, passing up both Sanders and Harris and giving Biden a run for his money -- he raised $21.5 million. Fundraising hauls have to be weighed against the campaign's "burn rate" or how much of the money they're bringing in is being spent. Warren's campaign has dialed down the burn rate substantially compared to the first quarter.

The first night of the Democratic Debate was unimpressive. Most of the candidates were trying to out-liberal the others. It was all so, shall we say, unimpressive. The moderators clearly favored Elizabeth Warren, repeatedly going back to her for questions, particularly at the beginning.
