Former Boston TV anchor Heather Unruh told a press conference today that Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her then-18-year-old son in 2016 in Nantucket. From CBS Boston:
Fighting back tears, she said her son was a “star-struck, straight, 18-year-old young man, who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim.”

Here at LI, we've covered the increasing, alarming, and widespread leftist intolerance for free speech in this country.  The radical left has decided and worked diligently to spread the dangerous notion that any ideas they deem offensive or objectionable should not be expressed, and if they are, there is the growing sense that violence should be used to silence anyone speaking words with which they disagree. What we haven't seen as often is what everyone else feels about the far left's increasingly fascistic approach to silencing any but their own speech.  It turns out that Americans are generally pretty fed up with it, and that there is a growing sense that we cannot express our true thoughts or views.

Beloved former Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully has said that he will never watch another football game due to the player protests during the national anthem. From ESPN:
Said Scully: "During the fall and winter, I watch the NFL on Sunday, and it's not that I'm some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything, but I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing that I can do in my little way is to not to preach; I will never watch another NFL game."

The New York City Police Department has said it is gathering evidence against Harvey Weinstein after actress Paz de la Huerta's accused him of rape. From Fox News:
The NYPD said they corroborated portions of actress Paz de la Huerta’s account, in which she alleges Weinstein raped her twice in her apartment, and are seeking more evidence in their investigation to obtain an arrest warrant.

A disabled Navy veteran has refused to receive an honor from the New Orleans Saints due to some players taking a knee during the national anthem. From NOLA.com:
Retired Navy Cmdr. John Wells, executive director of the national Military Veterans Advocacy, was named a Peoples Health Champion, an award given by the Medicare health insurance advantage organization to citizens over 65 who have made significant accomplishments after reaching "senior citizen" status.

From leaking debate questions to Hillary Clinton to allegedly rigging the Democrat primary in Hillary's favor and from announcing that pro-life Democrats are no longer welcome to funding the Trump dossier, the DNC has come under fire for some pretty outrageous behavior and some deeply disturbing statements and actions. Recently, the DNC was also under fire for former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz's IT employee who was arrested earlier this year and who was one of four under investigation for breaching the U. S. House of Representatives computer system. The DNC has multiple openings in IT, and DNC's Data Service Manager Madeleine Leader sent out an email in which she specifically states that she would "prefer" the openings not be forwarded to "cisgender straight white males, since they're already in the majority."

A poll published Wednesday by the American Psychological Association confirmed what most Americans have complained about at some point -- the constant onslaught of news stresses people out. The APA's 'Stress in America' study set out to identify key stressors and their overall effect on the country's climate.

On Sunday night, BuzzFeed published an interview with actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance on him when he was only 14-years-old over 30 years ago. Spacey stated he did not remember the incident, but also used the opportunity to officially come out as a gay man, which has been speculated for many years. Now many, especially in the LGBT community, have blasted Spacey for using his sexuality as cover for his alleged sexual misconduct. They have a point because I noticed a lot in the media making the story about Spacey's sexuality instead of Rapp's claims.

First, they came for the Confederate flag, but I didn't fly a Confederate flag, so I did not speak out.  Then they came for Confederate statues, but I didn't feel strongly about Confederate statues, so I did not speak out.  Then they came for statues of George Washington and Andrew Jackson, and I have a chance to speak out . . . so I am. While I purposely evoke Martin Niemöller's famous quote about Germans turning a blind eye to Hitler's incremental buildup to genocide, I mean not to diminish the Holocaust but to show how we can so easily inch into dangerous territory ourselves. What we are seeing now has unfortunate parallels to the insidious escalation and gradual expansion of beliefs and mores that drove Germany into the abyss.  At this time in our nation's history, the radical left has identified as obscene and offensive George Washington.  They've deemed him and his great legacy worthy only of being eradicated not just from the face of the earth but from historical and socio-cultural memory.

Newsweek published an article this week which took direct aim at Irish Americans. Who knew Irish-bashing was still alive and well in the 21st century? The author of the piece is named Van Gosse and teaches history at Franklin & Marshall College. He's not kidding, either. He obviously sees this as a serious problem:
Why Are All the Conservative Loudmouths Irish-American? Just as they used to play an outsize role in the Democratic Party’s apparatus, and in organized labor, putative Irishmen are now the face of the hard Right.
