In my post last night, I suggested that Judge Emmett Sullivan likely was in the process of deciding who to appoint to argue the government's (former) position as to whether DOJ would be permitted to drop the case, Judge in Michael Flynn case may allow ‘amicus’ briefs on whether to drop case – is there reason for freak out?

Nancy Pelosi and Democrats are once again exploiting the Coronavirus crisis in an attempt to ram through spending they would never get passed otherwise. Pelosi has been absent in Washington for weeks, but she somehow produced an 1,800 page bill with a price tag of $3 trillion dollars that reads like a progressive wish list.

CNN host Brian Stelter lost his damn mind on Sunday's Reliable Sources because some people in the media had the nerve to report the news not related to the Wuhan coronavirus. They had the audacity to address the issue that the FBI might have set up former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Stelter considered it an "obsession" because nothing can ever top the pandemic!

Today's update starts with some very troubling news. Even though it is becoming apparent to anyone with necessary math skills, common sense, and basic knowledge of economics, several cities and regions throughout the nation are continuing to use voodoo modeling to prolong the pandemic stay-hat-home orders.

Pro-democracy demonstrations have returned to Hong Kong as coronavirus lockdown phases out. A big anti-government protest took place at a popular shopping mall on Sunday, where hundreds of riot police showed up to clamp down the protest. The police arrested more than 250 protesters over the weekend, the Hong Kong-based newspaper South China Morning Post reported.

The Department of Justice, after concluding that the prosecution of Michael Flynn was the product of misconduct by FBI and DOJ officials, moved to drop the case against Flynn. But not so fast. Flynn pleaded guilty, a plea that the DOJ motion to drop the charges calls into question. A judge has discretion whether to allow a case to be dropped, but normally if the prosecution doesn't want to prosecute, a judge will not force a prosecution. But where a guilty plea has been entered and accepted by the court, and a motion to withdraw the plea rejected by the court, the court has a lot more power because the prosecution, in a sense, is over already. Only sentencing remains.

In February 2019, two Connecticut high school transgender sprinters claimed the two top spots in the Girls Indoor Track Championship for the second year in a row. Three of the biological girls who competed in the 2019 track championship filed a federal discrimination complaint against a statewide policy on transgender athletes.  Although she's the fastest biological female sprinter, one of the girls "nonetheless lost four state championships to male competitors who identified as female."

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi never lets a crisis go to waste to grab more power even as people suffer from the lockdown due to the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. On MSNBC, Pelosi made it known that she views "everything as an opportunity." She also made it known she doesn't care about working with Republicans because it's important for the Democrats to present their relief bill "without too much conversation."

There has been a ton of speculation about who Joe Biden will choose as a running mate. He narrowed it down a bit during the last Democratic debate by plainly stating that he would choose a woman. Since then, most people agreed that the short list included four people.
