President Donald Trump's administration plans to ban Chinese airlines from flying into the United States starting later this month, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced. The decision comes after Beijing refused to allow U.S. air carriers to resume services to mainland China. The U.S. restrictions, set to come to start on June 16, will apply to state-owned Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines.

The Black Lives Matter movement was born of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. While the BLM founders started their organizing after the prior Trayvon Martin case, it was Brown and Ferguson which launched the BLM movement into the public spotlight through the protests and riots in Ferguson. Nothing was more associated with the BLM movement than the chant "hands up, don't shoot," based on the narrative that Brown had his hands raised and said 'don't shoot' when shot. That same chant drives protesters and rioters ripping up cities after the George Floyd killing.

I've written well over 1,500 posts for Legal Insurrection over the years, and one that stands out in my memory as a heartbreaking emblem of "woke" culture was a post about a school in New York City that was teaching little K-8 white children they were "born racist."  Children were coming home in tears, telling their parents that they were "a bad person."

I haven't had much time to reflect on the looting and riots that swept mostly (but not exclusively) large Democrat cities. It was a wilding on a scale we've never seen. It was a bloodletting and release of criminal fury. We should be clear what is happening. It is not protest over the death of George Floyd. That is the spark, but not the fire.

Back in 2018, Katy Grimes wrote about leftist billionaire George Soros funneling millions into U.S. District Attorney races across the country. Apparently, the investment is paying off now.  Soros-backed Saint Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner reportedly declined to prosecute those arrested for looting and rioting.  More than 30 people were released from jail.

Months ago, when the country shut down and you couldn't buy a roll of toilet paper anywhere, people began arming themselves at an increasing rate. Now that roving mobs of looters and rioters are preying on American cities, gun sales are reaching historic highs.
