Phillip Reines is as close to Hillary Clinton as they get. He served as the stand-in for Trump during Hillary's 2016 debate preparation. There are numerous mainstream media articles about Democrat establishment frustration with the current field, and plenty of speculation that Hillary is seriously considering getting into the race. That speculation comes from Hillary's increasingly open and combatative public statements and appearances.

In early September 2019, Legal Insurrection published our half of a joint-investigation of anti-Israel groups with The Washington Free Beacon. Our research—reported in Investigation: Anti- ICE “Never Again Action” Not The Spontaneous Grassroots Group It Claims To Be—showed that the organization Never Again Action, a group claiming that Immigration and Customs Enforcement operates Nazi-esque "concentration camps" and must thus be "shut down", is not the immigration-focused coalition it purports to be.

Two weeks ago, Oberlin College and its Dean of Students, Meredith Raimondo filed their appeal from the two jury verdicts in favor of Gibson's Bakery and its owners : $11 million compensatory damages rendered on June 7, 2019, and $33 million in punitive damages rendered on June 13, 2019, after a separate punitive damages trial.

I recently reported that at the Amazon synod, Pope Francis created a stir by pondering the possibility of married priests. But that wasn't the only significant controversy associated with the event.  A video going around shows a man throwing statues in the Tiber used in a Vatican garden ceremony and placed by an altar in Rome's Church of Santa Maria in Transpontina.

Two students from the University of Connecticut are currently under arrest because they used racial slurs. That may be tasteless and inappropriate, but at the end of the day, they're just words. These students were arrested for saying words.

Quentin Tarantino is a director well known for stirring the pot. He's not afraid of controversy as evidenced by the controversial nature of his films which frequently deal with themes of violence, cruelty, bigotry and bloody vengeance. He's also an infamously leftist figure who generally tunes his films to the tastes of an overwhelmingly progressive audience.

Legal Insurrection readers will recall I covered a book entitled "The Polar Bear Catastrophe that Never Happened" by Dr. Susan Crockford. The University of Victoria professor analyzes the latest data and reviews the questionable values used in official estimates, concluding that polar bears are actually thriving. She has been fired from her position at the university.
After 15 years as an adjunct assistant professor, Ms. Crockford said the University of Victoria rejected without explanation in May her renewal application, despite her high profile as a speaker and author stemming from her widely cited research on polar bears and dog domestication.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has vowed to “use force” to protect the country’s borders after Turkey threatened to unleash a wave of immigrants into Europe, French TV network Euronews reported. The statement came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's threatened to “open the gates and send 3.6 million” migrants over to Europe.
