While Congressman Elijah Cummings is now dealing with new interest in how $15 billion in federal aid allocated for Baltimore was spent, an administration official is now targeting another congressional representative for lack of interest in her home district. HUD Region II Administrator Lynne Patton hit freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for neglecting her district (NY-14).

Everything is unfolding just as we predicted almost two years ago. We predicted that as the Democrat presidential field looked likely to yield a sure loss to Trump, Democrats would turn their lonely eyes to Michelle Obama, possibly as late as the convention if it looked like a Bernie win.

After the first Democratic presidential debate in June, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) became a top contender. She successfully broadsided frontrunner Joe Biden over his remarks about busing and working with segregationist Senators in a moment that was clearly staged, and landed a body blow that helped her campaign funding and poll numbers rise. The Netherlands and Belgium have joined Switzerland in freezing funds to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) amid reports of a major corruption and sexual misconduct scandal surrounding the organization. The report included names of top UNRWA officials, such as Director-General Pierre Krähenbühl.
