The Democrats have another opportunity to take a seat in the House of Representatives since House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ) has announced he will retire at the end of his term. He has represented New Jersey's 11th district since 1995.

The West has done everything they could to prevent an all out war with North Korea by slapping the communist kingdom with sanctions after sanctions. Now it appears that sanctions have started to work since the military happy country has cut back on its military exercises mainly due to the sanctions on oil imports.

Sunday's Grammy Awards proved once again that the American entertainment industry is increasingly disconnected from the people they're meant to entertain. As part of the show, artists read excerpts from Michael Wolff's 'Fire and Fury', an anti-Trump book. 'Fire and Fury', a problematic work (the veracity of which Wolff himself is unsure) blew up the news cycle prior to its release several weeks ago.

Ahed Tamimi, who turns 17 this week, is charged with hitting and kicking Israeli soldiers, captured on a Facebook live stream by Ahed's mother, Nariman, who also is charged. Ahed also faces charges for unrelated prior rock throwing and for a broadcast statement supporting suicide bombings, knife and other attacks. Ahed will appear again before a judge this week for presentation of evidence against her.

The politicians must have realized the approach was full of fail, so now leaders of several blue states are planning a lawsuit to block the entire overhaul package. California may join in.

Bill Maher can be infuriatingly liberal, but when he gets something right, he gets it really right. And what he frequently gets right are issues related to free speech, political correctness, liberal intolerance and false accusations of Islamophobia. And Israel. Here are some of the things he has gotten really right that we have previously covered:

A hot topic in the Legal Insurrection comment sections has been whether the insane/deranged/lunatic/vicious/malicious reaction of Democrats and the open-borders left to Trump's generous DACA/Dreamer amnesty framework was part of some three-dimensional chess play by Trump. In that scenario, Trump offered what he knew never would be accepted in order to make himself look good and his opposition unreasonable: Amnesty for 1.8 million 'Dreamers' plus immediate family reunification, in exchange for funding of border security and The Wall, and an end to extended family chain migration.
