We have covered many examples of Hamas attack tunnels from Gaza crossing into southern Israel being discovered and destroyed. While there have long been rumors that Hezbollah was constructing tunnels under the border with Lebanon in the North, such reports were based mostly on the logic of Hezbollah's tactics. Hezbollah has been threatening for years that in the next war it would capture part of northern Israel, even if only for a short time.

It appears the members of the caravan from Central America are growing increasingly frustrated by both the legal entry process and the immigration "organizers" who have herded them to the US-Mexico border. To begin with, dozens of migrants who are disheartened by the slow pace of the formal asylum-seeking process breached the U.S.-Mexico border Monday by scaling a 10-foot metal fence.

Emails of four top National Republican Congressional Committee aides were hacked, according to a Politico report published Tuesday. For several months, the NRCC email accounts of these four top aides was surveilled. The data breach was discovered by an NRCC vendor in April who immediately alerted the cybersecurity team. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been working behind the scenes to prevent European Union member countries from recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the newspaper Jerusalem Post reported. The revelation was made by Tomas Sandell, the director of the European Coalition for Israel in Brussels. Chancellor Merkel made a series of calls to European leaders in April while "many of the nations were seriously considering moving their embassies." Sandell said. "This is not the Germany we once knew. This is not the even Angela Merkel we once knew when she was elected."

Manhattan Institute scholar and author Heather Mac Donald appeared on the Mark Levin show this weekend to discuss how campus culture has begun to surface in American politics. New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued a new directive whereby he restricts police officers' cooperation with ICE.  The move is intended to "build trust" between illegal aliens and the police. ICE has responded with an announcement that there will be a "likely increase" in immigration raids in New Jersey.

In Fleck v. Wetsh, review by the Supreme Court was sought of an 8th Circuit decision denying a challenge to North Dakota's mandatory Bar Association dues, some of which went to political activities not directly related to Bar membership. Note that this has nothing to do with licensing of attorney, as such. Rather, a majority of states require that in addition to registering with the state licensing authority (often the state Supreme Court), bar members also must register with the private Bar Associations. That's the way it is in Rhode Island, I'm required to pay my annual dues both to the state Supreme Court and separately to the Rhode Island Bar Association.
