The last few weeks have been at times maddening and surreal.

But in the end, Kavanaugh was confirmed. What a victory.

You betcha!

Meanwhile, the left keeps getting worse.

This is serious business.

I am humbled that some of the Republicans I have held in lower esteem over the years, Graham, Collins, even Grassley at times, metamorphosed into saviors of the Country, the Constitution and the Republican Party itself: My apologies. And I am also humbly surprised at the ability of the Republicans to play this crisis as a chess game, and to win, actually, at that: For example, they appointed an obscure female prosecutor to conduct the high stakes examinations at the hearings – she appeared to me to be unimpressive in the beginning, but now appears to have been a brilliant strategic choice. In the long run, boy was I wrong. Also truly impressive was the willingness of the Republicans to make the chess-like move of apparently sacrificing a piece – a potential new Republican Senator from WV, by effectively condoning and applauding the self-preservation move of Manchin, D., a sacrifice which, however, gained us a more powerful player on the board, a pivotal Supreme Court Justice. What is going to happen next? A tsunami wave of Never-Trumpers joining the team? I am now too humble to guess.

say what you want about Joe Manchin but you can tell by his body language that he was so uncomfortable having to listen to these protestor’s tirades and his own party’s grandstanding

hopefully the Republicans pick up a net 3-4 Senate seats in this coming election so we can bury this type of dreadful display for the next 2-4 years

The Murkowski BETRAYAL means that the Kavanaugh confirmation was in the hands of Jeff Flake. Let that sink in a while.

Allowing things to get to the 3rd and 4th lines of defense makes me physically ill. Why can’t our 1st lines of defense ever hold?

We must be free of the RINOs or nothing we care about will ever be passed into law. We’ll look back at 8 years of Trump that were pissed away because no gains were ever locked into law.

WaPo’s editorial for today:
We need careful, restrained justices on the Supreme Court

restrained = neutered. So activist judges are “restrained”. In the face of demagoguery , lies, inuendo, smearing and the use of the politics of personal destruction, one must be silent. The Left saw white hot righteous indignation and defense of self and family by Justice Kavanaugh …. and they are scared.

This past week the Dems reminded me of Dr Duke in front of the firing squad in the classic 1980 Doonesbury “And that’s my final offer.”
