Here's one I missed last week: Several days ago, Donald Trump visited Detroit. Campaign surrogate, Detroit native, and former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson joined The Donald. Filming a live interview with CNN outside of his childhood home, Carson had other things on his mind. "What do you think he [Trump] took away from today?" asked the CNN interview. "OH! My luggage!" exclaimed Carson, before walking away.

This weekend has been a very challenging one for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. Yesterday we covered the impact of her poorly chosen phrase, "basket of deplorables", in social media. Today, she was rushed away from a 9-11 ceremony after what is being termed a "medical episode."
Hillary Clinton had a “medical episode” that required her to leave a 9/11 commemoration ceremony early on Sunday, a law enforcement source who witnessed the event told Fox News. The Democratic presidential nominee appeared to faint on her way into her van and had to be helped by her security, the source said. She was “clearly having some type of medical episode.”

I noted that Senate Democrats protected the sacred cow of Planned Parenthood when they blocked a bill to fight the spread of the Zika virus in this country. That decision now has consequences, as the coffers for the War against Zika are now running low.
Another government agency fighting Zika has run out of cash to do it, as Congress fights over whether and how to come up with more. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has spent all the money it has for work on Zika, says the agency's director, Dr. Anthony Fauci. That includes money for further work on a Zika vaccine.

Each anniversary of the 9/11 attack it's important for me to learn something new when researching a post. In past years I've learned of the recording that Melissa Harrington Hughes left on her home answering machine for her husband, 9/11/01 and Memory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2ODH0hs-68 And I located a recording of the chirping sound of PASS devices I remembered so well, each one representing the death of a first responder, I never have been able to erase that sound from my memory:

The prof's post entitled "ObamaCare is the Gateway Drug to Single-payer" couldn't be more apt.  There are serious flaws with ObamaCare, and in the terms by which it was presented to the American people, it has been a colossal failure from its foundation to its implementation . . . at least those "good" and popular parts that Obama has allowed to take effect (he's kicked the not-so-good, deeply unpopular parts down the road). Hillary has a plan to address the problem that she sees as central to ObamaCare's continued unpopularity, and that plan (surprise, surprise) involves the federal government's involvement with / setting of prescription drug pricing.  Her plan is so threatening to free market principles that Pfizer's CEO says that if implemented this plan will lead directly to single-payer.

California's inane battle against climate change has resulted in even more toxic legislation. Last week, our legislature approved a bill targeting cow flatulence and manure, which lawmakers blame for releasing greenhouse gases.
Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) authored the bill, which passed shortly before the end of the legislative session. Lara agreed to a compromise that will give dairy farms more time to comply with the new regulations. Critics have expressed concerns the new regulations will result in an increase in the price of milk from California cows. Proponents of the bill say methane emissions have a huge influence on the climate. The legislation also calls for efforts that would significantly increase composting in order to eliminate the amount of food waste in landfills. Food waste releases methane when it breaks down.

Back in July, U.S. District Judge Paul L. Friedman decided to release John Hinckley, Jr., the man who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan, since he "no longer poses a danger to himself or others." Officials at St. Elizabeths Hospital in DC let Hinckley go this morning to live with his mother full time under certain conditions.

Joy Reid has to be the rudest "host" on American TV. On her misnamed AM Joy show, Reid has made an art form out of interrupting and shutting down "guests" who don't toe her liberal line. We've reported how Reid abruptly ended a segment when a conservative Latino tried to mention Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger's support of eugenics. Then it was an African-American Republican who was chastised by Reid for daring to speak of "illegals." Today it was the misfortune of David Malpass, who held senior positions in the Reagan and H.W. Bush administrations and now serves as an adviser to Donald Trump, to be subjected to Reid's rudeness. When he tried to raise the pay-to-play nexus between the Clinton Foundation and Hillary's State Department, Reid repeatedly interrupted to accuse him of making statements that were "false" and "untrue," before asking for "help" from an anti-Trump guest who accused Malpass of coming on the show to "lie."
