A medical student at the University of Virginia attended a talk on microaggressions in 2018 and asked questions that were deemed problematic. He was subsequently banned from campus. A court just ruled that his lawsuit against the school can proceed.

A request has been filed for the Supreme Court to take the case after both the district and appeals courts ruled that while Harvard did discriminate, such discrimination was done lawfully.

A black man who is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia was recently stopped by police for fitting the description of a burglary suspect. The church then sent a letter to the police department decrying the practice of racial profiling, but RaShall Brackney, the Chief of Police, has pushed back on the accusations.
