Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's victory over Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY), the head of the House Democratic Caucus, propelled her into the national spotlight. She seems to think she's the new face of the party, which has led her to attack those within the Democrat Party. House Democrats have grown tired of her schtick and want her to cool it before the already fragile party is completely torn apart.

The nation of Colombia just elected conservative candidate Ivan Duque as its new president. Figures once considered fringe even among the left are now hailed as the voice of the party; these figures include self-proclaimed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and radical progressive Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).  Sanders and more recently Warren have been strong proponents of single-payer and "free" college.  Thanks in large part to Bernie, much of the left, the Democrat base, thinks of itself as "Democratic Socialist."

As Venezuela collapses, stories have leaked out about the hunger in the country. But the one thing the socialist government has guarded the most are the malnutrition deaths, especially children. We all know it's happening, but the details remain dark. The New York Times investigated the effects of Venezuela's collapse on children and it's heartbreaking.
