If you happened to miss the first round of Democrat debates (and who could blame you?), you may not have heard what 2020 Democrat contender Marianne Williamson had to say. She wants to defeat Trump, she intoned, with love. She also said that her first move if elected will be to call the Prime Minister of New Zealand to tell her America is going to be the best place to raise children. I kid you not.

Pennsylvania's 12th District elected state Rep. Fred Keller (R) to finish Rep. Tom Marino's (R) term. He stepped down in January. The district has a sizeable Republican population so the result should not shock anyone. However, the large margin of defeat may show a bright 2020 for Republicans.

One of the first and most vocal #NeverTrump members of Congress, Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) is now making headlines as "the first Republican" to call for President Trump's impeachment. So far, there is no indication at all that he is "first," it seems more likely he is the "lone" Republican making such a call.  Even Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) stated Sunday that the case for impeachment "just isn't there."

Okay, it's hard to think of a more ridiculous argument than this, yet the Democrats have concocted it for public consumption. Their point goes something like this:  Republicans are forcing them to pursue impeachment, against their (the Dems') better judgment, and . . . um, it's not good.  Unless it is.  (But it's not.)

House Republicans attempted to add pro-Israel and anti-BDS language into an unrelated resolution on Thursday. The resolution "aimed to end U.S. participation in Yemen’s civil war," which has caused a humanitarian crisis, "where Iran-backed Houthi rebels have sought to overthrow the country’s government, prompting a Saudi bombing campaign that has lasted nearly four years." It passed 247 to 175, but the pro-Israel amendment failed to make it in with a vote of 228-194.
