German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has proposed "enhanced controls" along the border with Switzerland after a migrant pushed a boy to his death at Frankfurt's railway station. The Eritrean refugee, who had received asylum in Switzerland, had shoved an eight-year-old boy and his mother in front of a high-speed train on Monday. The boy's mother survived and was being treated for shock, media reports said.

November 30 is the official day for commemorating the Jewish departure and expulsion from Arab and Muslim lands. The commemorative day was designated by Israel’s legislative body back in 2014 and comes as a belated recognition of the collective traumas experienced by the between 850,000 to 1 million Jews who were expelled or who fled their homes in the Middle East and North Africa over a span of some three decades (from the 1940s until the 1980s) as a result of persecution and discrimination.

Data from Swedish state TV station, SVT, revealed that 58% of men convicted of rape and attempted rape in Sweden were born abroad. From the BBC:
The Mission Investigation programme, due to be broadcast on Wednesday by SVT, said the total number of offenders over five years was 843. Of those, 197 were from the Middle East and North Africa, with 45 coming from Afghanistan.

An estimated 126,000 illegal immigrants set for deportation from Germany have slipped through the fingers of immigration authorities, German Federal Police office (BKA) disclosed. German police hope that some of these illegal immigrants may have voluntarily left the country, German newspaper Die Welt reported. The scenario of illegal immigrants “self-deporting” themselves out of Germany is most unlikely. It is more probable that many of these fugitives have acquired new identities and are drawing welfare from the state. As past Legal Insurrection reports indicate, it is very easy for asylum seekers to get multiple identities in Germany thanks to the bureaucratic chaos resulting from Chancellor Angela Merkel's open door migrant policy.

Wednesday June 20th was World Refugee Day, a day when the international community expresses solidarity for people forced to flee their homes as a result of war, persecution, or violence. Palestinians and their supporters globally typically also use the opportunity of World Refugee Day to raise awareness about the current situation facing Palestinian refugees and also to remind people about what befell the Palestinians in the 1947-1948 war for Israel’s independence.

The Islamic fasting month of Ramadan triggered a migrant riot in the German city of Dresden over the weekend, the local newspapers report. "Around 50 refugees attacked police after they attempted to stop a fight at a migrant center," German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle confirmed. These people "gathered and attacked officers by throwing lit cigarettes, then kicking and beating them," Dresden police said. The fight took place in the courtyard of a refugee shelter with asylum seekers using "knifes, chairs and fire extinguishers" as weapons, a German newspaper reported. Two police officers and a security guard were injured during the riot. Additional police units were called to defuse the situation.

Last week on May 15th was Nakba Day, when Palestinians and their supporters mourn what they call the ‘catastrophe’ of the modern Jewish state’s establishment, mark the displacement of some 750,000 Arabs in 1948, and call for the ‘right’ of return of the Palestinian refugees to their lost homes in present-day Israel. There are many reasons that hundreds of thousands of Arabs were displaced in 1948—but as we highlighted in a recent post, chief among them was the fear of being harmed by the approaching Zionist forces.

The debate over surging Islamization in Germany has created a serious rift within Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian-Conservative alliance. Merkel's Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), launched scathing attack on the growing influence of Islam in German society Islam "doesn't culturally shape our country" and "it should not" be culturally influential in Germany, Alexander Dobrindt, the head of the CSU parliamentary party, said in a newspaper interview. In a rare display of backbone by a leading German politician, Dobrindt asserted the superiority of West's "Judeo-Christian heritage," saying "[N]o Islamic country on earth has developed a comparable democratic culture like the ones we know in Christian countries."

While the German police struggle to take back control of their streets, the Merkel government has been "concerned by the situation in Gaza." The German Foreign Ministry called for "resumption of negotiations to find a solution that would be suitable to all people between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea." This week, two large-scale riots took place in Hamborn district of Duisburg, a small town some 50-minute ride from the north-western German city of Cologne.

The New York Times has experienced an amazing epiphany: Sweden's open-door policy to refugees from Muslim countries has created a crisis of violence and crime in Sweden.  While they myopically attribute this crisis to "gangs," they do dabble with the idea that integration of foreign nationals into the existing socio-cultural framework of the host country may be desirable after all. This is a remarkable shift given the NYT's attempts to cover up the escalation of violence, rape, and crime perpetrated by refugees in Sweden.  Remember their feigned shock when President Trump last year pointed out, quite rightly, that Sweden was feeling the negative affects of letting hundreds of thousands of refugees flood their country?
