Two correctional officers responsible for watching Jeffrey Epstein face charges of falsifying records:
The indictment charged the workers, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, with making false records and conspiring to defraud the United States. Specifically, the indictment said the two workers failed to make their rounds to check on detainees and instead “sat at their desk, browsed the internet and moved around the common area.” Then they signed documents saying they had looked in inmates when they had not.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals put on hold a subpoena issued by a federal that demanded President Donald Trump turn over his tax returns. Earlier on Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Victor Marrero of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York gave the Manhattan District Attorney's office to subpoena the returns from Mazars USA, an accounting firm.

The bitter relationship between the New York Police Department (NYPD) and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio continues to grow. The Police Benevolent Association, the NYPD union, voted no confidence in de Blasio and Commissioner James O'Neill due to the firing of Daniel Pantaleo. He is the officer involved in the death of Eric Garner back in 2014.

New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson determined multimillionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide by hanging himself:
“After careful review of all investigative information, including complete autopsy findings, the determination on the death of Jeffrey Epstein is below — Cause: Hanging. Manner: Suicide.”
