New York Times editor Mara Gay and MSNBC's Brian Williams showed off their superior math skills last night on The 11th Hour. Mekita Rivers, a writer at Glamour and The Washington Post, posted that Michael Bloomberg could have used the $500 million he spent on ads on the American people. She said he could have given everyone $1 million and have money to spare.

Chris Matthews, long-time "Hardball" host is done at MSNBC. Without any warning, Matthews announced his departure from the network Monday.

If you've watched any of the impeachment trial on TV this week, you know that it's been an incredibly boring affair. In spite of this, the hosts at MSNBC, who are deeply emotionally and professionally invested in the outcome, are annoyed that members of the Senate aren't sitting on the edge of their seats.

Just when you thought the on-going feud between Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) couldn't possibly become more absurd, it does.  Bernie has been accused by CNN, who relayed the message from the Warren campaign, of saying that a woman could not win the presidency. Only die-hard Warren supporters appear to believe Warren (or CNN).

Lev Parnas is to the Impeachment Trial as Julie Swetnick was to the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, if Republicans let Democrats get away with it. Recall that after the Kavanaugh hearings were done, but before the committee vote, Democrats leaked that they had a surprise witness they had known about for several weeks, Christine Blasey Ford. Her claim that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in high school fell apart when the four people she said were present in the house that night all said they had no memory of such an event -- not just the sexual assault, but even of being in the house as a group.

Rachel Maddow gets my nod as the Worst Media Person for 2016-2019. She deserves that title not because she's anti-Trump deranged -- so are most of the hosts and guests on MSNBC and CNN, and large numbers of reporters and opinion-makers at major newspapers. And Maddow's not the worst at MSNBC -- Lawrence O'Donnell is hate-filled and angry, but no one takes his intellect seriously. Maddow, by contrast, managed to defraud her own viewers with pungent conspiracy fear-mongering that has led them down a dark dead-ended alleyway, while maintaining the patina of intellectualism.

Sen. Ted Cruz joined MSNBC's Chris Hayes at the Texas Tribune Festival on a stage sponsored by NBC. Hayes is as true a progressive as they come. That said, I've never found him off-putting for the sheer reason that he is always willing to engage in mostly civil debate, a rarity these days.

A poll hosted by the MSNBC asked respondents a simple question: Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public? Given that it's MSNBC, the leftist conspiracy machine, hosting the poll, I doubt they thought the results would be so favorable to our beloved Constitution.
