“She also is developing a new original streaming and social media show, with a launch in the spring.”

Joe Biden’s former White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, is getting her own show on MSNBC, further highlighting the revolving door between DC politics and the media.

This is hardly surprising. Back when Psaki first signed on at the White House, people immediately began speculating about whether she would end up at MSNBC or CNN.

Deadline reports:

MSNBC Sets Debut Date For Jen Psaki’s New Show

Jen Psaki’s new show for MSNBC will debut on March 19 at noon ET and will be streamed the next day on Peacock.

The Sunday show, called Inside with Jen Psaki, has been in the works since Psaki joined the network last year after her stint as White House press secretary.

Psaki also will contribute a regular column for the MSNBC Daily morning newsletter. She also is developing a new original streaming and social media show, with a launch in the spring.

One of the recurring features on Psaki’s show will be a segment called Weekend Routine, in which she will shadow lawmakers and other notable figures throughout their usual routines.

Psaki’s supporters will undoubtedly point to former George W. Bush press secretary Dana Perino who now works for FOX News, but Perino didn’t go to the FOX News channel less than a year after leaving the White House. Psaki only left her job in May of 2022.

MSNBC put out a press release:

Inside with Jen Psaki will leverage Psaki’s wide-ranging expertise to tackle the biggest issues of the week, featuring one-on-one interviews with newsmakers. Each Sunday, she will break down and make sense of the most complex public policy discussions happening in the Nation’s Capital from the debt ceiling to the political campaign trail to the war in Ukraine and more. In one special recurring segment “Weekend Routine,” Psaki will pull back the curtain on the everyday lives of notable lawmakers and influential thought leaders. She will shadow each newsmaker as they move through their usual activities discussing their work, careers and personal lives, spotlighting a unique and often unseen side.

Psaki will continue to appear across MSNBC’s regular and special coverage programming, including election coverage, to provide an inside look at Washington politics as the 2024 presidential race takes shape. She will also remain a principal voice in NBC News’ primetime coverage of major political events and regularly contribute to NBC News’ TODAY, Meet the Press, and Election Night programming.

Media critic Stephen L. Miller notes that this was in the works when Psaki was still on the job.

How long will it take for Karine Jean-Pierre to get her own cable news show?

Comments

The show should be called “Ps-Information.”
It’s great timing too. I think they may be able to get Don Lemon to help out with the hate demographic!

Why not call it Word Salad by Jen?

“Let Me Circle Back to That with Jen Psaki”

Failing up.

Nobody watches that channel anyways

The previous posters should cut her some slack. She is way more articulate than her replacement, “Binder-lady”, Harris or Biden. We should be thankful she is not running for political office.

“Each Sunday, she will break down and make sense of the most complex public policy discussions happening in the Nation’s Capital ”

That would be her first experience making sense of anything. I wonder if she will wear her cute Russian fur cap with the red star?.

Dear God why

“Circle Back with Jen Psaki”

Will the show be named “Dizzy” ?

Why not. Her audition went well.

The only thing that would be “newsworthy” about this is if anyone tuned in to watch.

Days of Our Lives comes to live TV. “The pull back the curtain on the everyday lives of notable lawmakers and influential thought leaders. She will shadow each newsmaker as they move through their usual activities discussing their work, careers and personal lives, spotlighting a unique and often unseen side.” Network TV moves from the thoughtless babble of Joy Behar to roving teams of paparazzi. Comcast should change “Peacock” to “Carrot Top.”

One supposes It would be too much to expect her to “shadow” the board members at Disney, her own Comcast, or perhaps “influential thought makers” like Ocasio-Cortez, Schiff, Swalwell, Ilan Omar, or the planet’s best friends Al Gore and John Kerry. Perhaps her team can penetrate one of the Zuckerberg’s fortress-like multi-acre compounds.

Tawdry.
