Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday slammed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for spreading the conspiracy theory that blamed the U.S. for the Coronavirus outbreak. "Khamenei's fabrications that the US is responsible for the Wuhan Virus [COVID-19] put Iranians, Americans, and the rest of the world at risk. Facts matter," Pompeo wrote on Twitter.

The United States has sanctioned several Chinese companies involved in shipping Iranian oil and financing terrorism, the State Department announced on Wednesday. The measures taken against seven interlinked companies include three mainland China-based firms, three Hong Kong-based, and one from South Africa.

The Iranian regime is using its space program as a cover for further developing long-range missiles, the United States has warned. "The technologies used to launch satellites into orbit are virtually identical and interchangeable with those used in longer-range systems, including intercontinental ballistic missiles," U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said last week.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced a major policy shift on Monday by declaring that the United States no longer considers Israeli 'settlements' to be illegal under the international law. The statement reverses the U.S. State Department's long-held policy that regarded Israeli 'settlements' in the region of Judea and Samaria, also referred to as the West Bank, "inconsistent with international law."

Earlier this week, Mary wrote about the chaos in Venezuela as Juan Guaido Proclaims Himself Interim President, [and the] Military Backs Maduro.  At that point, the U.S. and Canada recognized Guaido as Venezuela's leader. Since then, Britain, Germany, France, and Spain said that Venezuela must agree to hold elections or they will recognize Guaido as the country's leader.  These countries have given Venezuela eight days to call the elections.

Venezuela's downward spiral gained some speed on Wednesday after National Assembly President Juan Guaido declared himself as the interim president. He claimed it's the only way "to rescue Venezuela from 'dictatorship.'" Guaido did this, even though Nicolas Maduro was sworn in a few weeks ago for another term, "after the Venezuelan National Assembly on Tuesday announced its takeover of the executive power."

Back in 2009, former President Barack Obama delivered a speech at American University in Cairo, Egypt, that "promised a new beginning with Muslim and Arab countries." The right criticized Obama "for placing too much blame on the U.S. for strife in the region." On Thursday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo rejected Obama's Middle East policy and stated “the age of self-inflicted American shame is over.”

In April of this year, Laura Ingraham of FOX News faced a full-blown boycott campaign for being mildly critical of David Hogg. Just last week, comedian Kevin Hart lost his gig as host of the Oscars when the media dredged up gay jokes he made on Twitter years ago. Yesterday, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's Morning Joe, used a gay slur to describe Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Where is the angry mob? Why does Mika get a pass?
