Readers are aware that Bowdoin College in Maine recently held a student body referendum for a full academic and cultural boycott of Israel. It failed miserably. I have a post at National Review looking back on the referendum, and how the SJP boycotters are doubling-down on their absolutist view of the conflict, Brainwashed at Bowdoin: Anti-Israel Boycotters Miss a Teachable Moment: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/418119/brainwashed-bowdoin-anti-israel-boycotters-miss-teachable-moment-william-jacobson Here is an excerpt, but head over to National Review for the whole thing. And share it widely on Facebook and Twitter, or email to friends, using the links at National Review. This is a story that needs to be told:

On Thursday, I had the pleasure of giving a presentation to House staffers on the BDS movement, and the role Congress legitimately can play in addressing the new form of the century-old Arab boycott of Jews in the land of Israel. I spoke about pending legislation, as well as possible additional legislation. The moderator for my presentation was David Hazony of The Tower Magazine: Back at CPAC, I spent some time on "Radio Row," where many high profile radio talk shows have set up booths. I've been fortunate to interview with several of them, including Larry O'Connor of WMAL in D.C. ...

Is this now a series? At my speech in Rochester I found Philly Guy. On Wednesday night, February 18, 2015, I appeared on a CAMERA panel in West Palm Beach about countering the anti-Israel movement on campus. I don't know the official count, but I'm guesstimating about 200 people in attendance. I found Legal Insurrection reader, commenter and Twitter fan @SGLawrence [Featured Image], who attended with her daughter. More than that, they gave me a wonderful gift of two illustrated books by Sam Fink, Exodus and The Constitution, accompanied by a wonderful note:
Every time I on on Legalinsurrection.com, I feel that all is not lost -- if there are still thinkers out there like you, applying their incredible talents in these times, I must remain an optimist. Ever since I discovered Sam Fink, I have made it my business to share his beautiful books on The Constitution and on the 5 Books of Exodus. There's just something about Fink that reminds me of you -- a real love of America and Israel, I guess.

It pains me to come to the conclusion that Loretta Lynch should not be confirmed as our next Attorney General. As I wrote before, Lynch was a law school classmate. While we were not "friends," we were acquaintances. I have only good memories of her, and it does not surprise me that she has accomplished so much. Lynch is not Eric Holder, in so many ways. Holder was the consummate political being, who leaves a history of shattered constitutional and other principles in his wake.  Lynch assured the Judiciary Committee that she could say "No" to a president. http://youtu.be/mH8iSJvN3D0 That sequence, and so much of the testimony at the confirmation hearings, was more about Holder than Lynch. And it was devastating. Jonathan Turley, who supports Lynch, gave another stinging indictment of the Obama-Holder constitutional legacy:

On Tuesday night, January 27, 2015, I spoke at the Rochester (NY) Jewish Community Center on the topic of Boycotting Israel - The insidious threat of the BDS movement I was invited to speak by Rochesterians for Israel (Roc4Israel), a very active multi-faith group. The official attendance count was 354 people, quite a crowd. Before my speech, the organizers played the video of the Cornell student harassed and attacked by anti-Israel activists on campus, as well as a video of aggressive anti-Israel campus activities: (Language Warning) (BTW, that "Gandhi Quote" is fake.) In my speech I put the aggressiveness of anti-Israel student groups in context. I focused on the academic boycott movement pushed by faculty professional organizations, which deprives faculty, students and the greater academic community of academic freedom.

As previously mentioned, around mid-year I started seeking to broaden the audience by writing Op-Eds at major publications. Each time I do so, I post an excerpt at Legal Insurrection, so you don't miss it. For those of you who have not been following along and taking notes, here is the 2014 list: I've also done several dozen radio interviews, here are the ones for which I was able to get audio clips and post on YouTube or find embeddable clips:

Ignore the polls showing Hillary up by 50%+ over potential Democratic rivals. Elizabeth Warren "is not" running. Everyone knows (or assumes) Hillary is. The second Warren declares she's seeking the nomination, if she declares, the polls will narrow. The second Warren goes after Hillary as the crony-capitalist, contrived-candidate that she is, the polls would narrow. Defeating the Clinton machine would not be easy or quick, but I stand by my view that if Warren were to run, she would end up crushing Hillary. The massive lead would narrow and then evaporate, just like it did with Obama. But it would end there. As part of my effort to spread the word, I have a column today at The Boston Herald, Will Elizabeth Warren sell ‘outside the bubble’?. Boston Herald Will Elizabeth Warren Sell Outside the Bubble Here is an excerpt, head over to The Herald for the full story:
