The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has accused Anheuser-Busch InBev of handing out incentives to retailers and bars in the state to push Budweiser beer over other brands. The Wall Street Journal reported:
The state’s Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has issued a report detailing investigators’ findings and set a June hearing in Boston on the matter. The report alleges a subsidiary of AB InBev gave out bar equipment as incentives to hundreds of Massachusetts businesses in violation of a state law meant to keep beer companies from squeezing out competitors.

While the Democrats seem to be in denial about how and why they lost the White House and the Senate (and even the House) in 2016, they do seem to realize that their bench is relatively bare.  The "buzz" about 2020 Democrat presidential hopefuls has, until now, been centered on former Vice President Joe Biden, socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT), and Sanders' ideological mini-me Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). These aging Democrat superstars, however, might just get pushed aside as Boston's left-leaning media pushes a handsome, articulate, combat veteran and former aide to General Petraeus who routinely insists that Trump's rise is just like that of Hitler. At 38, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) is currently serving his second term in the House, and while there was buzz that he might consider a Senate run, the Boston Globe and other local outlets have been building him up as a potential 2020 presidential candidate.

Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, 27, hanged himself in his prison cell early Wednesday morning while serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder charge at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, MA. He committed suicide on the day his former team will visit the White House to commemorate their Super Bowl victory over the Atlanta Falcons in February.

In the wake of a Massachusetts state representative tipping off illegal aliens about pending ICE raids, Tucker Carlson interviewed MA state senator Jamie Elderidge to discuss this plus pending legislation to make Massachusetts a "sanctuary state." Fox News reported on state rep Michelle DuBois's Facebook posting warning illegals in Brockton to "stay off the streets."

Authorities found two Super Bowl jerseys worn by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The lost jerseys were found with a credentialed member of the international media. From KPRC:
Houston police Chief Art Acevedo said that a tip from someone in Houston led investigators to a location in Mexico, where the jerseys were found. "You don't come to Texas and steal when the eyes of the world are upon our state," Acevedo said.

As President Trump moves forward on his campaign promises regarding illegal immigration, the progressive left is (delightfully) apoplectic. Sanctuary cities, in particular, are of special significance to them as Democrat mayors across the nation insist that they will resist Trump's efforts. Boston mayor, Marty Walsh, is taking his "resist we much" stance one step further and has declared that Boston's City Hall is now one big "safe space" for illegal aliens.  He asserts that illegals can move in and live right there at City Hall, presumably "safe" from deportation. It is not clear how far Walsh intends to go in harboring and protecting Massachusetts' illegal aliens from ICE.

Thornton Law Firm, a progressive Massachusetts-based firm that donates heavily to Democrat campaigns, including that of Elizabeth Warren, seems to have bit of a problem with its (now former) "bonus" scheme.  Many of Thornton's "bonuses" to its partners were in the exact same amount of said partners' "personal" donations to political campaigns . . . often paid within ten days of their making said political donations. Explaining that Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) flew to Boston to join other political candidates hoping to cash in at Thornton Law Firm, The Boston Globe reports:
But a striking thing happened the day Tester visited in 2010. Partner David C. Strouss received a payment from the firm labeled as a “bonus” that exactly equaled his $2,400 contribution to Tester’s campaign, the maximum allowed. A few days later, partner Garrett Bradley — until recently the House assistant majority leader on Beacon Hill — got a bonus, too, exactly matching his $2,400 gift to Tester.

The progressive war on Christianity has been at full throttle for quite some time, and now we are seeing it playing out in Massachusetts. Massachusetts passed a law that "Gives transgender people the right to use restrooms or locker rooms consistent with their gender identities, and includes language to provide "legal action [against] any person whose assertion of a gender identity is for an improper purpose." Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, of unilateral "assault weapons" ban fame, has decided that churches are included in this law and that government can dictate church actions and silence church speech when it "conflicts with the government's view."

In July, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey issued a statement in which she announced her unilateral ban on "assault weapons," including "copycat assault weapons." On Thursday, the Washington Free Beacon reports, "the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the largest trade association in the firearms industry, in conjunction with four Massachusetts gun dealers filed the suit against Attorney General Maura Healey (D.) in response to her attempt to redefine the state’s assault weapons ban." The Washington Free Beacon continues:
Healey announced on July 20 that she was officially reinterpreting the language of the state’s decades-old ban. She said she would be vastly expanding what constitutes a so-called “copycat” of guns that are explicitly banned under the statute and accused the gun industry of skirting the law for years. “The gun industry has openly defied our laws here in Massachusetts for nearly two decades,” Healey said in her announcement. “That ends today. We have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure that combat-style weapons are off our streets and out of the hands of those who would use them to kill innocent people.”

Somerville, Massachusetts is an interesting city just outside of Boston. The densely occupied community is home to lots of old school Boston blue-collar types while also being extremely diverse. It's also hipster heaven, as anyone who's ever been to Davis Square can tell you. A Black Lives Matter banner has been hanging on Somerville City Hall for a while, but after the recent rash of shootings directed at police, the Somerville PD asked to have it taken down. The mayor declined the request and tensions are now mounting.
