MA Landlord Trying to Evict Harvard Grad Student Over Legally Owned Guns

This is unreal. Her roommates searched her room when they noticed she owned a MAGA hat.

Landlord Tells Harvard Student to Move Out Over Legally Owned Guns
A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable.
“Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an email to the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The request that the student, Leyla Pirnie, move out came after her roommates searched her room while she was not home and found her firearms. That prompted one of the roommates to email Lewis requesting he verify that Pirnie was in compliance with applicable firearms laws.
“We discussed with Leyla that all of us are uncomfortable with having firearms in the house, and that their presence causes anxiety and deprives us of the quiet enjoyment of the premise to which we are entitled,” the roommate wrote to Lewis.
Pirnie said she feels her roommates violated her privacy and now they and her landlord are trying to violate her rights.
“A few weeks ago, I came back to my apartment from a weekend trip and was confronted by one of my roommates who asked if I had guns in the house,” she told the Free Beacon. “After being told far too many lies to count, my roommates finally admitted that they searched my closet, under my bed, and all of my drawers in pursuit of finding my guns.”…

the quiet enjoyment of the premise to which we are entitled
Those specific words are a legal provision people use to get out of leases. The roomies could use it if they wanted to leave because she was shooting guns all night and keeping them awake; apparently not the case here.
It sounds like somebody is going to have to pay for a lawyer to send a few letters. I don’t see a GoFundMe page yet.
That quiet enjoyment stuff describes the duty of the landlord to his/her/its/er tenant. One tenant doesn’t owe that duty to another tenant. Here, the tenants having the vapors over the gun will have to find another legal theory.

Not too much bigotry here.
“Quiet” doesn’t come into it at all. Nobody has claimed that the MAGA hat is making a noise or any other sort of disturbance, and neither is the gun. The “quiet enjoyment” thing is simply irrelevant.
If the hat or gun were making noises at all hours, the complaining renters could use “quiet enjoyment” to terminate their leases and move elsewhere. Or the landlord might try to encourage the noisy hat and gun to move elsewhere, removing the source of complaint. But that’s not the situation as described. Somebody’s just tossing legal-sounding word salad around.
