At sentencing, Judge Lamberth reportedly said of Chansley, “He made himself the image of the riot, didn't he? For good or bad, he made himself the very image of this whole event.” But media coverage should have had nothing to do with the sentencing.

Mr. Van Zile informs us that he has not received more than a perfunctory response to either of his complaints."

Judge Royce Lamberth: "I find that the civil rights of the defendant [Christopher Worrell} have been abridged. I don't know if it's because he is a Jan. 6 defendant or not, but I find that this matter should be referred to the attorney general of the United States ... for a civil rights investigation."
