LATEST NEWS

Around this time every year, coastal media trot out a series of articles "preparing" a very particular set of readers for encounters with opinions unlike their own, which says more about them than the subject of their writing, but anyway... This year is no different, except for the fact that their attempts to normalize contentious Thanksgiving Dinner conversation are far less veiled than years past. Once upon a time, there was at least a pretense of impartiality. But this is 2018 and everything with which they disagree is abhorrent and at the very least, racist.

The so-called Kids Climate Change Lawsuit seeks to hold the U.S. government liable for climate change and to compel remedial action. Seriously. It's a ludicrous lawsuit that was supposed to go to trial in late October 2018, after surviving a motion to dismiss.

Monday, actress Mareli Miniutti requested a restraining order against estranged boyfriend, Michael Avenatti. Avenatti is the fame-lusting attorney who represented porn actress Stormy Daniels. Miniutti alleges Avenatti called her an "ungrateful bitch" and forcibly removed her from his apartment, leaving her legs and back scratched up.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Office of Statewide Prosecution has opened up an investigation into the state's Democratic Party over allegations of election fraud. From WCTV:
Evidence reported to the Department of State suggests a possible effort by Democrats to have voters fix ballots after the state’s deadline in at least four counties. Cure forms for mail ballots sent to voters by the party show the return date changed from the day before the election to two days afterwards.

In the first two years of the Trump presidency, no federal agency has been targeted by the left more than ICE. Just last week, 2020 hopeful Kamala Harris tried to draw a comparison between ICE and the KKK. Campus progressives have also singled out ICE for unfair criticism. In February, students at Rutgers successfully campaigned to have the agency removed from a government jobs fair. Now the law school at Seattle University has severed ties with ICE.

Contrary to the mainstream media reporting, President Donald Trump may be winning the trade war with China, according to a leading European think tank. The tariffs placed by the Trump administration could narrow the U.S. trade deficit with China by 17 percent, a recent paper published by Munich-based EocnPol Europe projects. "The US import tariffs will increase the prices of the affected Chinese products in the United States and decrease the profit margin of Chinese exporters," the fifteen page report says. "This might force some Chinese firms to stop exporting to the US, or even force them completely out of the market."

Sunday was the 40th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre, an event that caused the deaths of about 900 people (about a third of them children) who were killed at the group's compound in Guyana. Note that I write "were killed" rather than "killed themselves." One of the many misconceptions about the Jonestown tragedy was that for most of its victims it represented an act of suicide. For some it did, but for many it did not. The children, of course, were not acting for themselves and were incapable of giving consent (some were infants and toddlers). And although the adults had all signed onto the Jim Jones enterprise of their own free will, many (perhaps even most?) had essentially been kept prisoner there against their will, long after the nature of the movement had changed. What's more, as I wrote previously in a lengthy post on the subject:

EVERYTHING IS OFFENSIVE! That's how it is nowadays. Eastern Michigan University's Women's Resource Center (WRC) has decided to stop hosting The Vagina Monologues because it excludes some women...like females that don't have vaginas. Since copyright laws won't allow them to change the dialogue, the school has chosen to get rid of it. How do I science?

A group of conservative young women decided to stage a #HimToo rally in Portland, OR, as an effort to bring awareness of false accusations of assault against men. About 40 people attended. The far-left group Antifa decided to hijack the peaceful rally after they deemed it unacceptable. Independent journalist Andy Ngo decided to attend, but Antifa thugs assaulted him by spitting on him and hitting him.

Estonian actress Mareli Miniutti reportedly has filed a restraining order against anti-Trump lawyer Michael Avenatti. Miniutti, who is based in New York City, "filed her petition Monday at the Santa Monica branch of Los Angeles County Superior Court." Reports confirmed today that Miniutti is the woman Avenatti allegedly abused last week. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of domestic violence. He left after four hours and posted $50,000 bail.
