The 26 minute President Donald Trump gave to 60 Minutes spanned across numerous subjects, including Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Russian President Vladimir Putin, the economy, and his relationship with people in his administration. As you may remember, Trump received a lot of flack for a speech he gave in Mississippi during the hearings on Kavanaugh. Stahl told Trump he "mimicked" Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault 30 years ago, but Trump said he only pointed out that Ford couldn't remember the main details from the incident.

Elizabeth Warren is not Native American. Her ancestry has been traced by Cherokee genealogists back to the early 1800s, as far back as there are records, and there are no Native American ancestors. The one potential Native American ancestor was Warren's great great great grandmother, Sarah O.C. Smith, but an initial 2012 report about that was debunked and The Boston Globe was forced to issue a retraction.

Not since Wendy Davis have we seen national liberals fall so much in love with a Texan. You remember Wendy, the wannabe Governor of Texas, who with her pink sneakers became a national sensation and fundraising juggernaut after her very public opposition to pro-life legislation.

The false claim that Israel is an 'apartheid' state underpins the intellectual foundations of the BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanctions) movement. The smear actually originated in anti-Zionist campaigns that were initiated by Communist states during the Cold War. Since the 2001 UN conference in Durban, which launched the BDS movement, the comparison of Israel with racist apartheid-era South Africa has also been a key leitmotif of anti-Israel activists.

We keep hearing the media insist that they are not blinded by partisanship and bias, that they are not purveyors of #FakeNews, yet we also keep seeing the evidence pile up that they are not only biased #FakeNews peddlers but that they appear to be intentionally fanning the flames that are fueling leftist #Resistance mobs.

I have a confession to make before reviewing the latest book by conservative icon and author Michael Savage: I am not a big fan.  There is no denying that Savage is exceptionally smart and deeply passionate about this country, the U.S. Constitution, and conservative principles. On his radio show, his vitriolic and pessimistic take on subjects differs from my normally optimistic, humor-oriented view of politics and current events. I normally don't stay tuned in for very long when I alight upon his radio show, as Savage's tone can be a bit too bitter for my personal taste. However, his latest book, Stop Mass Hysteria: America's Insanity from the Salem Witch Trials to the Trump Witch Hunt, is a smart, engaging, and timely look at angry mobs and their historic consequences.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been on a roll. Together Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, McConnell has sheparded through Democrat obstruction a total as of today of 84 Trump judicial nominees, including 15 last week in addition to Brett Kavanaugh. Included in that group are two Supreme Court justices, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and 29 Courts of Appeals judges.

#MeToo, we are told, is an important socio-cultural movement; we should believe all accusers as "survivors" and treat every incident of alleged sexual assault as a mass attack of white male privilege on hapless females.  This mentality is so ingrained among the #MeToo and #Resistance left that protesters mobbed lawmakers insisting that their stories be heard in conjunction with the Kavanaugh hearings. The idea was that any woman who had been sexually assaulted must be somehow weighed in the Kavanaugh hearings and confirmation vote.  None of these women were claiming that Kavanaugh had assaulted them, just that they had been assaulted . . . and that Kavanaugh must pay.  You know, for their victimhood or as a scapegoat or Christ figure sacrificed for the sins of the many.  Kavanaugh's defeat was to be redemption for these women who had never met him much less been assaulted by him.  He was to be the figure, the totem, of their healing.   Burn him, and they are freed.  Or something.

As we move ever closer to the 2018 midterms, all eyes are fixed on House and Senate races.  The need for President Trump to maintain, even expand, the number of seats in both Houses of Congress cannot be overstated, so it's heartening to see Republican candidate for Senate John James surging in Michigan. James, a combat veteran and businessman, describes himself as a "conservative Republican" and is seeing a surge not only in support via polling but in donations as money is flowing into his campaign.  While James is still a bit of a long-shot against incumbent Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow who has held that seat since 2000, the recent surge opens the possibility of a stunning—and very welcome—upset.
