The Democratic field for the 2020 presidential election has 24 candidates. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) knows this is too many people, so officials have taken steps to make it harder for the candidates to reach the third and fourth primary debates.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller made a public statement about his Russian probe. His last public statement came out in March 2017 when then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed him to lead the Russian investigation. He released his report on April 18. Remember when everyone on the left gushed over Michael Wolff's book Fire and Fury about President Donald Trump's White House even after he admitted it has parts that are not true? Well, Wolff wrote another book called Siege: Trump Under Fire, which The Guardian obtained. Wolff claimed Special Counsel Robert Mueller "drew up an indictment of Trump that named three counts of obstruction of justice." Mueller's spokesman immediately shot down Wolff's claims.

The Supreme Court upheld an Indiana law that required a burial or cremation of an aborted human being, but decided to provide an unsigned opinion on the portion of the law that bans abortion based on sex, race, and disability. Vice President Mike Pence signed the bill into law in 2016 when he served as governor of Indiana. Justice Clarence Thomas issued an opinion in support of the Indiana law on abortion restrictions due to eugenics using abortion as a form of eugenics on minorities.

The private organization We Build the Wall began construction on a border wall in El Paso over the weekend. The group has raised over $20 million on GoFundMe. Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach told Fox & Friends the group aimed to build the wall near Mount Cristo Rey to fill a "ridiculously large gap" in that section. He claimed that "drug and human smugglers have been taking advantage of it."

President Donald Trump went after former Vice President Joe Biden, the front runner in the 2020 Democratic primary, for his role in the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. Biden wrote the bill when he served as a senator from Delaware and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Trump may have a point because the law eventually fell out of favor with people on both sides since "critics said it caused prison populations to swell and resulted in the mass incarceration of African Americans on drug charges." You know what's weird? Publications said the exact same thing about Hillary Clinton in 2016 since President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law.

President Donald Trump granted Attorney General William Barr permission to declassify the documents related to surveillance on his 2016 presidential campaign. From Fox News:
Trump also ordered the intelligence community to cooperate with Barr. The memo read: "The heads of elements of the intelligence community... and the heads of each department or agency that includes an element of the intelligence community shall promptly provide such assistance and information as the Attorney General may request in connection with that review."

United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May announced through tears this morning that she will leave her post on June 7 after a Brexit mess that has lasted for three years. From The London Times:
“It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit,” she said. “I believe it was right to persevere, even when the odds against success seemed high.

Our tax dollars at work! The Department of Defense admitted to The New York Post that officials still investigate any reports on UFOs:
In a statement provided exclusively to The Post, a Department of Defense spokesman said a secret government initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program [AATIP] “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.”

John Walker Lindh, a man called the "American Taliban," left a federal prison in Indiana on Thursday after 17 years behind bars. He received a 20-year sentence after he joined the Taliban in Afghanistan after 9/11. Lawmakers tried to persuade against Lindh's release even though he "will have a set of heavy restrictions placed on him."

Pennsylvania's 12th District elected state Rep. Fred Keller (R) to finish Rep. Tom Marino's (R) term. He stepped down in January. The district has a sizeable Republican population so the result should not shock anyone. However, the large margin of defeat may show a bright 2020 for Republicans.
