Mary is the resident libertarian. She covers stories in every vertical, but her favorite thing to do is take on the media. She saw its bias against the right when she was a socialist.

Mary loves the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, tennis, cats, Oxford comma, Diet Coke, and needlework.

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey rocked the NBA earlier this month in a now-deleted tweet when he voiced support for those in Hong Kong. The tweet caused backlash in China, which led the NBA to fix its PR in the communist nation instead of backing one of their own. Rockets fans, though, showed common sense during the home opener.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is right. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has taken more steps to rig the system so only the top candidates end up on top. The new requirements for the sixth debate in December will only help the top five candidates.

On Fox and Friends this morning, Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham tore into Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson over his decision to skip a speech scheduled next week from President Donald Trump:
Graham told [Steve] Doocy: "He has said that he has problems with President Trump. And, my feeling is, there are plenty of people that I have problems with but, the reality is when police officers are out on the street, we do not engage in political activity.

Acting US Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor told Congress that US Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland knew President Donald Trump threatened to cutoff aid to Ukraine if the government did not investigate former Vice President Joe Biden. Taylor also claimed Sondland passed the threat to the Ukrainian government. However, Sondland's attorney Robert Luskin said his client does not recall any conversation about cutting off Ukraine.

Russia, Russia, Russia! Failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton claimed Russia is "grooming" 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) to be a spoiler in the election. Instead of gaining support, Hillary has become a laughingstock. Gabbard's 2020 opponents even came to her defense against the once-beloved Democrat.

I find it funny how everyone now loves Utah Sen. Mitt Romney because he has become one of the louder voices against President Donald Trump. McKay Coppins wrote a loving profile of Romney in The Atlantic, which also included the senator groaning about Trump's use of Twitter. Except...it seems like Romney enjoys Twitter more than he let on.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren threatened to cut off Israel if the country moves "in the opposite direction" of a two-state solution. From The Hill:
"Right now, Netanyahu says he is going to take Israel in a direction of increasing settlements, [but] that does not move us in the direction of a two-state solution," Warren responded when asked what her stance was on aid and settlement-building.

The State Department found that 38 people committed violations during its probe into failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's email. From The Associated Press:
The investigation, launched more than three years ago, determined that those 38 people were “culpable” in 91 cases of sending classified information that ended up in Clinton’s personal email, according to a letter sent to Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley this week and released on Friday. The 38 are current and former State Department officials but were not identified.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent told Congress on Tuesday that in 2015 he raised concerns about Hunter Biden sitting Burisma Holding's board. He feared Hunter working for the company "would complicate efforts by U.S. diplomats to convey to Ukrainian officials the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest." The office of then-Vice President Joe Biden brushed him off.

The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) decided to strike, which began today after the union's House of Delegates turned down the latest offer from the Board of Education. Over 300,000 students did not have school on Thursday. They may not have school on Friday.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) will still not admit the middle class will see higher taxes with Medicare for All. Warren's arrogance overflows on this subject even after two opponents called her out on the national stage on Tuesday. Instead, Warren has decided to review "the revenue options suggested by the 2016 Bernie [Sanders] campaign along with other revenue options.

The far-left played Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. HARD. She announced today she will not bring an impeachment vote to the House floor. As she stumbled in her explanation, she threw out, "All roads seem to lead to Putin with the president." Um, the impeachment inquiry is in regard to Ukraine, ma'am. You know, Russia's foe.
