Officials have reported hundreds of mumps cases among detained migrants in 19 states.
Mumps has swept through 57 immigration detention facilities in 19 states since September, according to the first U.S. government report on the outbreaks in the overloaded immigration system. The virus sickened 898 adult migrants and 33 detention center staffers, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in its report Thursday.

The Democrat debates are the best thing that ever happened to Donald Trump. Tonight's debate in Houston was another example, a mostly sleepy affair in which the two leftist party leaders -- Bernie and Warren -- further cemented their primary policy of taking private insurance away from almost 150 million people. Some of the lesser contenders called them out on that, as did Biden.

Federal prosecutors shot down an appeal from former FBI Deputy Director and current CNN contributor Andrew McCabe, who asked them to not recommend he face criminal charges. From The New York Times:
Lawyers for Mr. McCabe, who is being investigated over whether he lied to internal investigators about dealings with the news media, had argued that prosecutors lacked evidence to charge him. The lawyers detailed their position to top officials including Jeffrey A. Rosen, the deputy attorney general, who ultimately rejected their view. His deputy, Edward O’Callaghan, who was also present during the discussion, notified Mr. McCabe’s lawyers of the decision, one of the people said.

Chris Grant, 50, received praise from the media and Robert O'Rourke due to his heroic actions during the El Paso Walmart shooting in August. But Secret Service arrested him just before President Donald Trump would honor him for his actions. Turns out Grant has an outstanding arrest warrant and the El Paso police have refuted his story.

The House Judiciary Committee Democrats voted this morning on "the ground rules for a formal committee inquiry" to impeach President Donald Trump. While it does not mean an inquiry has officially started, it means the Democrats have finally defined the inquiry. Chairman Jerry Nadler has not given up on this subject despite pushback from Democrats in the House from moderate districts.

President Donald Trump is sending a team of White House officials to California so they can conduct a sweeping crackdown on homelessness in California.
The planning has intensified in recent weeks. Administration officials have discussed using the federal government to get homeless people off the streets of Los Angeles and other cities and into new government-backed facilities, according to two officials briefed on the planning.

On 9/11 every year we remember those who perished at the hands of al-Qaeda terrorists in New York, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania in 2001. While we remember those lost ones we need to remember another terrorist attack that took place eleven years later in Benghazi, Libya. America lost four brave men, but could have lost a lot more if it was not for the military men who did not quit during a 13 hour gunfight with terrorists.

President Trump's administration won a significant victory at the Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon. The NYT's Adam Liptak reports:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the Trump administration to bar many Central American migrants from seeking asylum in the United States. The court said the administration may enforce new rules that generally forbid asylum applications from people who had traveled through another country on their way to the United States without being denied asylum in that country.

We all know that 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren loves to rail against supposed dark money in politics, Wall Street, and evil corporations. She vowed to avoid big money during her presidential campaign. She swore she would run a full-on grass-roots campaign. How about before Warren's presidential campaign? The New York Times reported Warren courted big money before she swore it off.
