Oberlin College faces serious financial challenges, resulting from a variety of factors, particularly a decline in enrollment. The "social justice" turmoil of recent years at Oberlin, the focus of local and national media coverage and mockery, likely was a contributing factor, as we pointed out in September 2017, Radical fallout: Oberlin College enrollment drops, causing financial problems:

Most people assume that when the Supreme Court decides a case, it's over. Final. That's usually how it is, but not always. Sometimes when Court issues an opinion, it also sends the matter back to the lower courts for further consideration in light of the new guidance. For procedural reasons I'll explain soon, this is the path the Court took two weeks ago when it upheld Travel Order No. 3 in a bitterly divided 5-to-4 vote. So that means the case of Trump v. Hawaii will be returning to the lower courts which, altogether, have struck down the order, in its various iterations, a total of not one, not two, not three, not four, but five times.

The far left rioters who acted out on Trump's inauguration day have gotten a very lucky break. They're getting away with all the bad behavior millions of Americans witnessed on TV and the internet. There will be no consequences because all remaining charges have been dropped.

This past week I took a short but memorable and rewarding trip, both professionally and personally, to one of the holiest cities on the planet. Below I chronicle my 4 days in Jerusalem. Most of the images are personal photos and many were shared on Facebook, so I’ve included those posts as well. Enjoy!

Rematch. REMATCH! In Hillary's mind, and the minds of #TheResistance, Hillary Clinton is the rightful president. Because (a) the Electoral College is a stupid thing and she won the popular vote, (b) the Russians rigged the election, (c) James Comey, having refused to prosecute Hillary despite overwhelming evidence, tanked Hillary's campaign at the last minute, and (d) Trump is unfit, uncouth, and undeserving, and his supporters are deplorable.

After almost 4 years outside of the classroom, Marquette Professor John McAdams can return to work. Friday, Wisconsin's Supreme Court ruled (4-2 in favor) McAdams was wrongly fired in 2014. On his personal blog, McAdams was critical of a graduate teaching instructor who squashed a debate on gay marriage when a student disagreed with her on the subject. The graduate teaching instructor was named and the incident recounted on McAdams' personal blog, which resulted in his firing (indefinite suspension without pay) a few months later.

A 75-year-old man has been arrested for threatening to kill President Trump supporters, including those of GOP Congressman Lee Zeldin (R-NY). The man, Martin Astrof, showed up at Zeldin's campaign headquarters in Long Island and threatened to kill a volunteer there as well as other supporters of Trump and Zeldin before nearly hitting the volunteer with his car.
