President Donald Trump's longtime personal assistant John McEntee has left the White House and will join the president's 2020 re-election campaign. The Wall Street Journal reported the White House fired him over security issues. Other reports indicate the firing happened because he is under investigation for serious financial crimes.

Daniel Frisiello, the man who allegedly sent envelopes containing white powder to Donald Trump Jr. earlier this month, has been freed from jail while he waits for his trial by a Massachusetts judge. Vanessa Trump, wife of Donald Trump Jr., was rushed to a hospital after opening the envelope. Frisiello is confined to his home and prohibited from using the internet and from mailing anything.

Late Monday night, Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee completed a draft concluding there was no evidence of coordination between Trump's campaign and Russian agents, according to the Associated Press. The draft will not be made public until Democrat members of the committee have had an opportunity to review it, followed by a review from the FBI to ensure any classified information is redacted.

The Democrats are desperate, aren't they? Reports have surfaced the past few days that say liberals have started to pressure Democrats to use the removal of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) as a campaign point for the 2020 election.

Gallup and the Knight Foundation released a survey of college students on the issue of free speech. The full report (pdf.) is here. I discuss the highlights below. Liberal writers at Vox and elsewhere are furiously trying to preempt the fallout from the survey arguing that a majority of students say they support free speech. The results of the survey, however, show that generic support for free speech is not reflected in student willingness to let free speech happen.

Ted Cruz's Democrat opponent Rep. Robert O'Rourke just put a serious damper on his bid for a seat in the Big House (not that there was any serious competition before). Speaking at South by Southwest in Austin, O'Rourke said he doesn't think AR-15s should be sold to private citizens. Mind you, this is a TEXAS Senate race and us Texans have big love for our guns and our second amendment protections.

At South by Southwest, Arnold Schwarzenegger announced his big plans to sue the oil and gas industry. Schwarzenegger claims the oil and gas industry intentionally caused climate change and "knowingly killing people all over the world." To date, no complaint has been filed, but Schwarzenegger said he is currently working with several law firms.
