Donald Trump secured a victory in the federal District Court in D.C., as a Judge just ruled that Mick Mulvaney can continue as Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The Court rejected the claims of Leandra English, appointed by Richard Cordray just as he was leaving CFPB, that she should remain as Acting Director pending nomination and confirmation of a replacement Director. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced that the regime has squashed the uprising that took place the last few weeks. The protests left 22 people dead and 3,700 arrested. Remember, people used social media and the internet to tell the world about the protests since Iran doesn't have a free press and the regime told state media not to report on it. To stop them, the regime shut down the internet. Yes, that helped them cut off access for the world to see the protests, but it also wrecked havoc on those who did not even participate.

Vienna Police have booked criminal charges against three pro-Israeli activists for waving an Israeli flag to a group of anti-Israel demonstrators. They have been accused of waving the Israeli flag "in an extremely provocative way" causing "considerable offense among the Palestinian protesters," Austrian media reported, citing the police statement. If found guilty, they could face up to hundred euros in fine or two days in prison.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) will not seek re-election this year, which means the Democrats could possibly pick up another seat. He wrote:
Throughout my service, I worked hard and never lost sight of the people our government is supposed to serve. Yet with the support of my family, I have decided that I will not seek re-election in California's 49th District.

Another day, another judicial intervention trying to prevent Donald Trump from exercising his lawful Executive Branch powers. Of course, that's not the verbiage the court used, but it's a fair characterization of the San Francisco federal district court decision (full embed at bottom of post)(pdf.) in a lawsuit brought by Janet Napolitano on behalf of the California Regents seeking an injunction against Trump's plans to end the DACA program.

Michael Cohen, the personal attorney for President Donald Trump, has filed two defamation lawsuits over the dossier against then-candidate Trump. He filed the suit against Fusion GPS, which produced the dossier, in federal court and filed the suit against Buzzfeed, which published the dossier in January 2017, in state court.

I had a wonderful experience touring the Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan presidential libraries in 2015, where I savored history and celebrated American culture. The plans for the Barack H. Obama presidential library seem to be taking a less scholarly turn, as they appeared to be geared to turning the facility into a progressive activity center:
The architectural centerpiece of the Obama campus—a 100-plus-foot-tall stone-clad tower—could also see its final look evolve. Though the designers confirmed the completion of 30 different studies for the structure, they would not elaborate on any changes. As far as programming is concerned, the tower’s top level will include an observation space open to the public while the museum itself would be accessible only by paying ticket holders.

Ranking Judiciary Committee Member Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) released the closed testimony of Glenn Simpson, a founder of Fusion GPS, which produced the dossier in 2016 of then-candidate Donald Trump, along with his attorney Josh Levy. From The New York Times:
“The American people deserve the opportunity to see what he said and judge for themselves,” Ms. Feinstein said. “The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice. The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public.”

Last weekend I wrote about the anti-Israel protest held by a coalition of anti-Israel groups at Grand Central Station in New York City. The pretext of the protest was to support Ahed Tamimi, the Palestinian teen arrested for hitting and kicking a soldier in a videotaped provocation meant to generate a viral video (which it did). Last year, we documented the many times losers harassed FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and his family because he had the nerve to unravel net neutrality. THE HORROR. Even though it's over and done with, Pai and his family still face harassment, including racist remarks. Weird, considering that side is supposedly tolerant.

I guess this was inevitable. A website that played a large role in creating momentum for Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination, and to a much lesser extent the presidency, could not continue with someone at the helm who now was persona non grata with Donald Trump and his family. Either Brietbart News had to change, or Steve Bannon had to go.
