The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has stripped Malaysia of hosting the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships after the Muslim-majority country barred Israeli athletes from participating. The decision was taken by the IPC Governing Board in London on Sunday.

A man murdered Ahmed Hussein-Suale, a journalist who helped expose major FIFA corruption, as he drove home on a motorbike in Ghana. From USA Today:
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was killed late Wednesday, shot twice in the chest and once in the neck at close range while driving in the suburb of Accra where he lived. He died immediately, according to police.

For some reason, Sports Illustrated chose Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who this summer accused Supreme Court nominee (now Justice) Brett Kavanaugh of a sexual assault 40 years ago, to announce the magazine chose former gymnast Rachael Denhollander to receive its Inspiration of the Year award. Denhollander became the first gymnast to speak out against former Michigan State and USA gymnast doctor Larry Nassar for sexual assault. WHY?! Now everyone is paying attention to Ford instead of Denhollander and other Nassar victims.

ESPN has been having a tough time figuring out what it wants to be.  Having injected leftwing politics and political correctness into its lineup, many sports fans on both sides of the political aisle were disgusted.  ESPN's ratings declined and suffered some self-inflicted bleeding over, among other things, the NFL kneeling controversy. Attempting to stem the bleeding, ESPN brought in a new president and slashed jobs and salaries.  But ESPN lost an additional two million subscribers in 2018; this brings their total loss of subscribers to almost 12 million since 2013 and 15 million since 2011.

Naomi Osaka made history by becoming the first Japanese born woman to win the US Open. But the headlines following the event are hardly focusing on Osaka. Instead, the discussion has largely focused on Serena Williams who suffered a "sexist" umpire. It's pathetic, really.

ESPN has been struggling recently, and one of the problems it is facing is its political partisanship.  ESPN's president, Jimmy Pitaro, has been at the helm of ESPN for five months, and one of his goals is to refocus ESPN on *gasp* sports.  To that end, outspoken leftist Jemele Hill has been bought out of her contract. Hill, you may recall, was quietly moved off of Sports Center for tweeting that President Trump is a "white supremacist."

In June, the Argentine soccer team, which includes superstar Lionel Messi, canceled a friendly against Israel in Jersualem after players received threats "that exceeded those of the Islamic State." Video even captured Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub threatening Messi. Due to these actions, FIFA has banned Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub for one year.

The Argentine soccer team had to cancel a friendly match against Israel in Jerusalem. So I googled "Argentina soccer Israel" and unfortunately I am not shocked to find that many outlets have framed this story as a win for the BDS movement. I hate to break it to you anti-Semites and anti-Israel crowd, but the ACTUAL REASON is because Argentine players received threats that "exceeded those of the Islamic State."

Monday, the White House released a statement saying announcing the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles won't be joining the President at the White House to celebrate their victory. Citing the kneeling controversy, the WH statement said Eagles fans deserve more than a partial delegation. In language sounded exactly like Trump, the statement said, "they [Eagles] disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country. The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better."

Prompted by the actions of former quarterback Colin Kaepernick who, in the name of social justice, began taking a knee during the national anthem, the NFL released a new league policy for players during the national anthem. The league will allow players to remain in the locker room during the national anthem, but if a player chooses to appear on the field during the anthem, they're required to stand for the song's duration.

A Harris County grand jury indicted Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett on a federal charge of injury of the elderly at the 2017 Super Bowl that took place at Houston's NRG Stadium. Bennett allegedly forced his way through security to get on the field to celebrate with his brother and the New England Patriots. He allegedly injured a 66-year-old paraplegic woman on the security team.
