Pete Buttigieg Tag

The second Democratic debate is officially in the books and as Kemberlee wrote last night, the clear winner was illegal immigrants. To varying degrees, every candidate on the stage expressed an open borders position, with several promising ways to further incentivize migrants to attempt to take that dangerous trek across the border.

The South Bend Police Union released a scathing statement against Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democrat presidential candidate, over his handling of a white cop shooting and killing a black man. The union claimed that Buttigieg has exploited this incident for political gain, which has driven "a wedge between law enforcement officers and the community they took an oath to serve."

Sanders' has a 5 percentage point lead, making it a significant shift, considering Biden had led every poll taken on the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates (outside of one where there was a tie) until that point. This week on the polling front shows more concerning news for Biden, as he's in a virtual tie now with South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg in the critical primary state of New Hampshire:
