Buttigieg Complains About Too Many Whites in Construction, Stays Silent on Ohio Train Derailment

“…often a neighborhood of color that finally sees the project come to them but everyone in the hardhats on that project looking like, you know, doing — doing the good paying jobs don’t look like they came from anywhere near the neighborhood.”

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg decided to crack jokes and bemoan about too many white people in construction instead of addressing the Ohio train disaster at the National Association of Counties Conference.

Buttigieg is a piece of work:

BUTTIGIEG: “We have heard way too many stories from generations past of infrastructure where you got a neighborhood, often a neighborhood of color that finally sees the project come to them but everyone in the hardhats on that project looking like, you know, doing — doing the good paying jobs don’t look like they came from anywhere near the neighborhood.”

Oh my goodness, it’s so funny that Americans have seen many transportation problems during Buttigieg’s tenure (sarcasm):

BUTTIGIEG: “If you look at what the American transportation systems have faced in the last two or three years, partly because of the pandemic, we’ve faced issues from container shipping to airline cancelations, now we got balloons.” (Laughter)

We know of four dangerous chemicals on the train that went off the tracks in East Palestine, OH, on February 3.

The government has been silent. 100% silent. The residents want more transparency. They don’t believe the EPA when officials say the air quality is fine.

Steaming, fetid pile of Marxist shit, IMO.

Not merely incompetent (thank G0d) but a Butthead.

Blacks featured prominently in construction, in particular in the drywall trade. They owned it.

UNTIL….. illegal immigrants completely underpriced the black-owned companies and drove them out of business.

It’s time to shut-down malignant idiots like Pete Butthead and refute their lies. The GOP Congress should drag this moron in and tear him apart.

James Howard Kunstler sums it all up pretty well:

Didn’t you get the feeling this weekend that we’re living in HG Wells’ classic tale of the earth invaded by sinister alien spacecrafts? Our government is playing the story like a bassoon concerto. “American officials do not know what the objects were, much less their purpose or who sent them,” The New York Times reported, poaching a line from every horror movie of the 1950s. When do the giant ants show up on Fremont Street in Las Vegas?

Looks like they’ll keep up the suspense as long as possible, too. Oh, we can’t retrieve that thing up in Alaska due to white-out weather conditions… Oh, that other thing — the eight-sided silver tic-tac — it fell into Lake Huron, glug glug… and that first one, the big balloon payload, lies deep in Davy Jones’ Locker now. You’ll have to stand by, folks….

Let’s face it, all the other mindfucks set in motion by the folks-in-charge are not just losing their mojo — they’re generating a lot of nasty blow-back in the way of widespread distrust of authority and institutional collapse. Even Woked-up Democrat voters begin to suspect that the vaxxes they greeted like a holy deliverance might not be so good for you after all. I’m waiting for Rob Reiner’s head to explode when he starts to notice how many young SAG-AFTRA members are waking up dead in West Hollywood.

More to the point, you are now correct to suspect that the entire Covid-19 episode, from the design of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to the gene-modification shots put out by Pfizer and Moderna (erroneously labeled “vaccines”), was a joint Intel-DOD operation, not really a public health crisis. The abiding mystery is… why? Why turn Western Civilization upside down and inside out and then try to pound the whole thing down a rat-hole?

Frankly, the only angle that makes sense is that our government is captive to a hostile force. The WEF, the WHO, and the UN are the most obvious culprits, certainly the most talked-up, the most active on-the-scene. But until a few years ago these organizations had no real influence on the world. They were bad jokes… only pretending to protect the global community’s interests… actually completely incapable, utterly incompetent. Klaus Schwab, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus? Please! What Muppet factory were they made in? The UN was a mere collective of Third World hustles and rackets. And everybody knew it, but the developed world played along as a sop to these sad-sack nations and their greedy officials because the grift was chump-change.

You’d have more reason to suspect that those outfits were fronting for something else, and that something might be the CCP. The Marxist culture war against American manners and values is unmistakably a re-play of China’s cultural revolution, with all its insults against reason, tradition, custom, common sense, and due process of law. The titanic wave of Woke lunacy was hatched in the universities over many decades — places easily infiltrated by malign agents — and seeded into political activism on the Left, especially among the Democratic Party — which now has a figurehead president implicated in bribery and treason.

How and why else has the evidence of those crimes been so sedulously suppressed when it should have been served up to a grand jury post-haste in 2019, as soon as Hunter Biden’s laptop surfaced? The darn thing was absolutely stuffed with a rich documentary record of crime from the lowest (drugs and whores), to the highest (payoffs from foreign actors). The extraordinary lengths that the DOJ and FBI traced to hide it, or pretend to not look inside it, is one of the most transparently degenerate acts ever seen in US history — and continues to this day.

And now, all of it unwinds rapidly, all the organized deception and lying. You could argue, perhaps, that US government agencies, this aggregation of interests we call the Deep State, just went plumb insane from guilt, fear, and shame over its own long-running, rampant criminality, but even that fails to answer how come, for instance, the CDC is still pushing booster shots of a toxic bio-engineered cocktail that maims and kills people. Are they aiming to reduce the US population on-purpose — at the same time that the DHS is ushering millions from other countries across the border illegally? Is the Deep State working China’s will against us and the rest of the West? Did we collaborate with our adversaries in our own collapse?

All the usual totemic tropes the Deep State employs to intimidate its opponents — Russia, white supremacy, right-wing extremism, racism, misogyny, transphobia, blah blah — have lost their power to scare the non-insane. Fewer Americans believe the official bullshit about keeping America “safe” from “misinformation.” It’s perfectly obvious now that “misinformation” is a synonym for “the truth.” So, what have they got left? A UFO invasion? Is that what it’s come to? I guess so.

Forces are aligning now to shake this creaking system down to its foundation. The moment of criticality will most likely come when the financial markets crater and the US dollar gets broken by international ridicule to a near-worthless token of decrepitude. The public can apparently take an awful lot of gaslighting, double-dealing, and derogation. But that all changes when you can’t buy food anymore. The Superbowl is over. Here we are now, in the heart of the heart of winter, waiting for the ground to shift. Reality is out there howling against a cold moon, fixing to run our enemy down, like so much frightened prey. Before long, you’ll see blood on the snow.

Yeah, we see exactly this, just in reverse. Wanta know the last time I saw a white guy working landscaping? And guess what? We don’t care, Pete! What the hell is wrong with you?

Also, we don’t even ask them if they’re gay, Pete. Because we don’t care!

We’re the worst racists ever. And you can parse that ambiguity either way, depending on who you voted for.

It’s nice that someone in government finally is recognizing the damage illegal immigration is doing to American jobs

Definitely a moron. Every time he opens his mouth, he proves it.

Diversity dogma under the Pro-Choice ethical religion of Progressive sects denies individual dignity, individual conscience, intrinsic value, and normalizes color blocs (e.g. “neighborhood of color”), color quotas, and affirmative discrimination. DIEversity is socially justified under the umbrella policies of political congruence (“=”).

Not coincidentally a religion that closely evolved under the Rainbow banner that celebrates albinophobia with pride and parades, and practices equity and exclusion of black and brown colors.

Freights derail all the time. They clean up the mess, and repair the track, in a couple of days. What’s rare is catching fire, and doing it in a town.

Since it’s rare, it’s not an urgent ongoing problem. It’s great for clickbait though.

The discovery of a new “public problem.”

Owing to legal liability, they already do the proper amount of safety stuff. You don’t want too much either. Just the right amount so that payouts don’t exceed the cost of safety measures.

Yes, he is an incompetent man, frighteningly so. But, I don’t think that has any relation to his sex life.

Subotai Bahadur | February 13, 2023 at 6:42 pm

They have neither desire nor need to talk about the train wreck. A town named East Palestine, in Ohio, is not likely to have either members of the Nomenklatura or special protected classes at risk.

Subotai Bahadur

Too many white people in construction, is not an accurate statement. According to Center for American Progress:

“Undocumented immigrants make up a disproportionate share of the construction workforce, and undocumented workers are disproportionately likely to work in construction.”

CommoChief in reply to Paula. | February 13, 2023 at 7:36 pm

In residential construction sure. Smaller local sub contractors doing the hiring and paying cash. Lots of young, strong backs paid cash on those jobs, I did it for a while myself during my college days.

Buttigieg is probably referring to large projects particularly govt projects. As you may know that sort of project is generally bid to larger companies and at union pay scale. Really he is attacking unions who provide the labor force though he doesn’t seem to understand that.

“Buttigieg is probably referring to large projects particularly govt projects.”

To find the minorities in govt projects, you have to look in upper management. They don’t do blue collar any more.

CommoChief in reply to Paula. | February 13, 2023 at 8:42 pm

Wouldn’t that confirm the point Buttigieg was directly making about the folks on site wearing hard hats not looking like the neighborhood?

Look I ain’t defending Buttigieg here, but there is some truth to his statement but not due to generalized racism, rather where his observation holds it is where some unions have historically not been overly welcoming to outsiders. Lots of unions are a good old boy system where it helps to have a friend or family member to get placement to a particular job.

That’s what happens when you visit one site and make a generalized statement about the entire United States.

Reminds me some foreigners making a value judgment of the United States based on crime in Chicago.

      Not in Texas

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | February 13, 2023 at 8:51 pm

It is my understanding that all projects over $2K with federal funding are required to pay ‘prevailing wage rates’; which is shorthand for union rates. I will be happy for you to correct that understanding about federally funded projects with citations.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to CommoChief. | February 14, 2023 at 7:37 am

Not sure about the $2K minimum, but, you are referring to the Davis-Bacon Act.

This was passed by Democrats in order to protect unions, and an unstated – at least not in the bill itself – part was, it kept “them thar n1663rs” from under-bidding, the white-owned businesses and white workers.

    diver64 in reply to Paula. | February 15, 2023 at 3:21 am

I listened to his actual comment. He said nothing about white people. His point was actually a pretty decent one. There are not enough blacks going into the building trades and more trade schools and community colleges need to reach out to african americans to try and get them interested in good paying jobs. Not bad, I think.

Hispanics are the biggest winners in the last 20 years

My husband works in construction and has a difficult time finding people of any race who want to work. His company doesn’t hire union workers nor illegal aliens.

B Buchanan in reply to hrhdhd. | February 14, 2023 at 12:20 pm

I have several friends who own their own construction companies. All they want in a worker is that they show up and do the job – the owners could care less what the workers look like. The lament I hear is how hard it is to find anyone WILLING to work, even for good wages. No one seems to want to do hard physical labor.

That’s interesting since the last time I worked in construction which was over a decade ago, us white dudes were outnumbered by the mexicans.

Another over-credentialed mediocrity in government who has his job as a reward for dropping out of a political race and because he prefers sex with men.

In Philadelphia the building trades are dominated by Brazilian immigrants or organized labor. So Pete the Genius either has a beef with Latin Americans or one of his party’s staunchest support blocs.

Is there anyone in the Biden administration who is NOT an incompetent, cliche spewing jackass?

Jealous of blue collar workers now???

Is that where we’re going with this, Dem lunatics, really?

We definitely need more strong black queens in construction. Right after they are done at the salon, they can hop into their shovel ready job. See how well that works out for ya.

Neighborhood crew doing construction? Like a barn raising?

Ah, for those sweet, naive days when I thought “community organizing” was something like getting a neighborhood together — organizing, even — to clean up an abandoned lot, maintain a park, or similar.

Of course, I’ve been educated that this “organizing” is not about the agency to solve your own problems, but “organizing” to demand that someone else solve your problems.

I am less confused, now, but Mayor Pete seems still left behind. Of course the fixer crews don’t look like the neighborhoods they work in. They’re from somewhere else — that’s the point. He should read his own team’s playbook, sometime.

I guess Mayor Pete hasn’t been to any construction projects in SoCal. Workforce is virtually all Hispanic there.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to jimincalif. | February 14, 2023 at 8:03 am

Given that Hispanics have populated that area since way before statehood, that is no surprise.

If your theory was correct, we would be discussing American Indians instead of “Hispanics”. Indians were here long before any Spanish speaking invaders came utilizing a European language to subjugate the natives.

He will be SOOO glad to hear that United Airlines is hiring pilots…. 50% white male and the other 50% women and POC. If the best of the best were all women or POC…. that would be great. So when your in your seat and the pilots are shooting an approach to minimums… relax and be affirmative of their actions.

Mayor Pete thinks there may be a Dem primary coming up. He wants to show Dems what a great woke President he will be.

So, Jim Crow Pete doesn’t want black people to work in white neighborhoods. He should think before he speaks.

Buttboy should resign and demand a black replace him. I don’t think we’ve ever had a black transportation secretary yet.

He is missing in action on all issues related to his job

Ah yes, because it’s so common for construction projects to hire directly from the neighborhoods where the project is. I’d say he’s a moron, but he’s saying stupid things on purpose to rile up racial animosity.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Othniel. | February 14, 2023 at 8:06 am

“…but he’s saying stupid things on purpose to rile up racial animosity.”

He is no different from the press, most Democrat politicians, churchless reverends, or from people whose main goal in life is to find reasons to be offended.

I hadn’t realized that the racial makeup of construction workers fell under the authority of the federal Department of Transportation, but train derailments don’t. I learn something new every day with Biden running things.

The Department of Transportation is tasked with transporting workers to neighborhoods where they will blend in with the neighborhood due to the recent trend toward segregation.

Perhaps the Department of Education will due the same with students.

I didn’t see Butergeigerguy say anything about white people. If he had taken a walk around any construction sight lately he would see a whole lot of spanish speaking people so I guess what he said is accurate.

Please, can we beg NASA to send this fool into space on their next mission?

Sternverbs in reply to MAJack. | February 14, 2023 at 9:06 am

Careful, if we did that, all were would hear is there are not enough Black, Hispanic, Gay, Transsexual, Ukrainian astronauts. Is it worth it?

I can’t say he’s wrong. When I hired a company to replace my siding and windows a few years ago, the workers didn’t look like they came from this neighborhood.

Based on the fact that they exclusively spoke Spanish amongst themselves on the job site and some of them couldn’t speak English at all, I’d say they came from a neighborhood in Mexico somewhere.

I wasn’t aware that Pete considered this a problem until now. I assume he’s going to start doing something about it?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Sailorcurt. | February 14, 2023 at 8:09 am

The same for the entire crew that re-roofed my house here in northeastern Tennessee. They were also fast, the workmanship top-shelf, cleanup ws spotless, and all were polite and managed to figure out my Los Angeles Spanglish.

Buttigeigg is completely missing in action on any and all issues related to transportation

Obviously, Buttigieg hasn’t been to New York [and many other places, I’m sure], where most, if not all, of a construction work crew is Hispanic. Most are here illegally, working for cash, while their families collect welfare/food stamps, and God only knows what else. They have it better than most AMERICANS. POS.

Pete should know better than anyone about the hiring black back log.

tailhook wouldn’t last a week in the private sector–maybe if he learned to code he could find employment somewhere but doubtful–less than worthless

You mean like football stadiums where they are located, mostly in black neighborhoods, the players are not people of color? The music industry? TV commercials? NBA? NFL? Why pick only one industry Pete? Have you noticed there is no DIVERSITY in any of those industries? Why is that Pete? I think it is because the job requires the best worker that is needed for that job, not the color of their skin.

How do the residents know the racial makeup of the construction workers? Aren’t they out at their own jobs during the day when the construction crews are working?

Oh, that’s right. They are sitting on the front porch drinking forties and smoking blunts.

Silly me!
