Just under two months ago, when the nation was under its first "15-days to flatten the curve," I wrote that the situation could not hold, that shutting down the economy was not a sustainable long-term plan. My estimation was that the inflection point would come sometime in May, June at the very latest. I was right. The inflection point has arrived.

The outrageous tyranny of Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer and her heavy-handed, illogical, and irresponsible Wuhan coronavirus edicts have finally been outdone by another Democrat governor, this time on the east coast. Maine governor Janet Mills jumped on the one-size-fits all Wuhan coronavirus bandwagon, and forced a state-wide shutdown order, including in counties that have tiny numbers of infections and zero deaths.

Today's update features lockdown protests in my home state of California. I have come to the conclusion that the reason a "quarantine" is 40 days long is that is the duration people are willing to be isolated. Many states' governors, recognizing the success of Sweden's approach and evaluating the status of coronavirus infections in their states, are slowly reopening.

While the Wuhan coronavirus is a real problem, our often one-size-fits-all response appears to be creating still more problems, particularly in terms of our nation's health care system.  Cancer screenings and surgeries, most diagnostic screenings unrelated to the coronavirus, and many necessary quality of life surgeries have been canceled or postponed indefinitely to keep hospitals free to handle a massive influx of coronavirus patients. An influx that in most parts of the country hasn't happened. The resultant loss of medical professionals' jobs, loss of revenue to hospitals, and potential loss of patient life (or quality of life) are creating a whole new healthcare crisis across the country.

Rebellion was bound to happen in Michigan. The governor there is issuing decrees that make no sense and appear to attempt to take from the people all control of their lives. This is a losing strategy in America, with our long tradition of freedom and liberty, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer is likely watching her chance to be Joe Biden's VP disappear as her diktats have enraged the population of her state.

Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, that woman in Michigan, faces a massive protest after she extended orders in the state due to the Wuhan coronavirus. This includes banning the sale of non-essential items, including garden seeds in stores, and residence-to-residence travel for residents of the state. A man also drew up a recall petition on Change.org, which has received over 200,000 signatures.

The recent surprise primary victory for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York convinced the socialist wing of the Democratic party that their time had finally come. One race they truly wanted to win was the Democratic primary for governor of Michigan. They even flew in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to help the campaign but it didn't work.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence has taken control of President-elect Donald Trump's transition team, which included letting go of all the lobbyists:
Trump had been under fire for having a transition team filled with lobbyists and other insiders, given his campaign pledge to “drain the swamp.” There had been roughly a dozen registered lobbyists working in and around the transition team, reports have said. Those lobbyists included Rob Collins of S-3 Group, Mike Catanzaro at CGCN Group, Martin Whitmer of Whitmer & Worrall, J. Steven Hart at Williams & Jensen and tobacco company Altria’s Cindy Hayden, among others.
