California Gov. Gavin Newsom delivered his State of the State in an empty Dodger Stadium instead of the California legislative chamber in Sacramento. It may have been a very apt venue, as the speech was empty of both hope and solid plans for more sensible pandemic policies. The address was, however, dark, full of terrors, and rich in social justice blather.

We often hear about cases of discrimination against women, in the workplace and on college campuses, but discrimination against men is typically dismissed as non-existent. A former U.S. Department of Education official named Adam Kissel is casting a spotlight on discrimination against men at Stanford University, and he says the problem is pervasive.

Like some other states, California has a massive homeless problem. Instead of addressing the millions of Americans sleeping in tents on sidewalks, California's government and Biden's administration are spending millions on housing the flood of incoming migrants in hotels while they quarantine and await court dates. This is what 'America last' looks like.

At the end of January, Legal Insurrection reported that ultra-progressive Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón’s “reforms” were putting the region’s criminal justice system in “free fall.” For example, Gascón forced his prosecutors to read statements in court impugning the state’s “three strikes” law and ending specific penalties.

Matt Meyer, the president of Berkeley Federation of Teachers, has insisted for months the public schools have to remain closed until the district achieves the "gold standard." This includes vaccinating every educator against COVID-19. But parents in the Berkeley area have slammed Meyer after a video showed him dropping off his 2-year old daughter at preschool.

Once again, a California school board member has been caught saying something outrageous on camera without realizing the event was public. The last time something like this happened was less than a week ago. During an argument over reopening schools in La Mesa, California, the member compared it to slavery and white supremacy. Total lunacy.

Last week, I reported that the recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom movement hit the 1.5 million signature milestone, which is the minimum to get a recall vote on the ballot. However, as many astute readers noted, the signatures will undergo microscopic inspection before officials approve them. So, the petitioners continue to gather signatures. They collected another 200,000.

The Oakley, CA, school board found themselves in a lot of trouble after a video emerged of them mocking parents who want their children back in the classroom. "It's really unfortunate that they want to pick on us because they want their babysitters back," whined Lisa Brizendine, the Oakley Union Elementary School Board president.
