Sonoma State University Police Investigating Alleged ‘Nooses’ Found on Campus but Won’t Release Photos

“As to any images, we will not release any other information as this is an ongoing record, they are part of the investigative record and they are evidence”

This is at least the second campus ‘noose’ story of 2022. Is it a hoax? Will we ever find out?

The College Fix reports:

University police refuse to release pictures of two alleged ‘nooses’ found on campus

Sonoma State University’s Police Department is investigating the discovery of two ropes on campus two weeks apart that it states were each “fashioned into a noose,” but the department declined to release any photos.

In an emailed statement to The College Fix on Tuesday, Chief Nader Oweis said the photos are part of an investigation and will not be released at this time. The Fix had asked for photos of the ropes.

“As to any images, we will not release any other information as this is an ongoing record, they are part of the investigative record and they are evidence,” Oweis said via email.

The first incident was May 2.

“University staff located a barbecue grill that had been pushed into the pool. Attached to the barbecue grill was a rope, with the loose end of the rope fashioned into a noose and left hanging on the pool’s accessibility lift,” a police bulletin stated.

The second rope was reportedly found May 13. Once again, police alerted the campus community that university staff had found a rope “fashioned as a noose” hanging inside a classroom.

Both bulletins note the ropes were found by university staff, but do not identify the employees nor provide any pictures or further context. The bulletins also note there are no suspects at this time.

Translation: another hoax pulled off by a grievance studies major.

Say it with me, folks…

“Hoax!”

Did the hoaxers even bother to tie them right this time?

Did they find them on the garage doors like at the Indy 500.

You mean the Talladega 500? 15 FBI agents couldn’t find anything, but then again, that’s not too unusual late,y

Once again I ask, even supposing that these neese were in fact genuinely placed there by genuine white supremacists, for the purpose of expressing their vile opinions and ideology, no crime will have been committed, so why are the police involved? What is there for them to investigate?

Bubba Wallace and Jessie Smolett issued a joint statement declaring that it is true that there were nooses found on campus

Dictionary definition of a ‘noose’ is a line, wire or rope with a loop tied in one end with a running or slip knot. Such a loop can be tied in any number of ways and for any number of purposes, not just for purposes of intimidation or execution. I agree that this is most likely a misinterpretation (garage door pull) or hoax like so many of these ‘incidents’ in the recent past.

Probably much ado over nothing
