Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Tag

Grab the popcorn because this is going to get good. Over the weekend, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez publicly swiped at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and a new policy designed to protect incumbent candidates from primary challengers. AOC won her seat by ousting an incumbent.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has come under fire since The Washington Examiner first reported that a complaint to the Federal Election Committee (FEC) claimed her top aide "funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies." The mainstream media largely ignored the story until Ocasio-Cortez provided a non-response response.

Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace, tore Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez apart over her Green New Deal, calling her a "pompous little twit" because she doesn't seem to have any clue what it would take for her plan to work, realistically. "The problem with @AOC is she doesn't know whether or not she knows what she is talking about. Makes it harder to think straight," he wrote on Twitter.

Remember the outcry over Rolling Stone magazine's appalling July 2013 cover feature on Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev? Apparently it didn't faze them, because they're out with another cover and feature story series that glamorizes two freshmen Congresswomen whose actions and/or associations with powerful anti-Semitic figures should be concerning to everyone.

Last week, Twitter locked Luke Thompson's account after he divulged public information of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's boyfriend Riley Roberts. her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti joined in and next thing you know...trolls galore. Thompson had a legitimate question: Why does Riley have a house.gov email address? Since he had time on his hands with his suspension, Thompson did some digging and found the story goes deeper than he thought.

Republicans aren't the only ones concerned about Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez's complete ignorance of basic economics, or the fact that she's taking her horrible ideas mainstream. AOC fought against Amazon's bid to build a headquarters in New York City, prompting Amazon to back out of the potential deal. Had the deal gone through, Amazon would've brought roughly 25,000 new jobs to the community, not to mention the other immeasurable economic benefits. Worse still, AOC celebrated Amazon's decision to look elsewhere. Amazon and other New York City politicians were not kind in their criticism of Ocasio-Cortez.

Yesterday I blogged about Amazon skipping out on New York City, which gave Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) a victory. Now Amazon, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Gov. Chris Cuomo, and others  have ripped into Ocasio-Cortez not only for her behavior to push out Amazon, but how she is cheering loudly over the decision. An Amazon spokesperson said the congresswoman and other lawmakers "made it a hostile environment to do business."

Amazon announced today that it will not build a second headquarters in New York City. This is a political victory for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who opposed the deal, but that victory may be short-lived. Though the campus would not have been in her district, it would have been in Long Island City in a neighboring district. There would have been a large spillover effect of jobs and economic benefit in her own district.

The Democrat Green New Deal, which has been endorsed by at least four leading Democrat presidential candidates (Harris, Warren, Booker, Gillibrand) is a grab-bag of longstanding left-wing policy dreams to nationalize the economy and healthcare, and redistribute wealth, with fighting 'climate change' just the latest pretext. Among the many, many crazy proposals was “economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work.”
