Unemployment Claims Hit 853,000 Last Week in the Wake of New Lockdowns

The U.S. unemployment claims last week went up by 137,000 from the previous week to 853,000. Continuing claims, which saw a decreasing pattern, increased by 230,000 to 5.76 million.

New York City residents may be strapped with an additional $3 delivery surcharge for any package not containing food or medicine. The proposal would funnel the delivery fees to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority which is facing a massive budget shortfall (maybe because they keep shutting the city down?).
