Joe Biden’s Age and Health Are Not Off Limits

Joe Biden’s Age and Health Are Not Off Limits

It’s odd how the same people in media/Democrat circles who questioned Biden’s physical and mental health over the summer don’t seem interested in discussing it anymore.

Last summer, Joe Biden’s embarrassing gaffes were adding up, and even left-wing media outlets like the Washington Post started fact-checking the veracity of stories he’d tell during stump speeches. Questions began to be asked out in the open in Democrat/media circles about Biden’s age and health.

CNN’s Jake Tapper alluded to it in response to a thread done by former Harry Reid deputy chief of staff Adam Jentleson noting the number of flubs Biden had made in recent weeks:

Biden’s penchant for these types of mistakes had gotten so bad that President Trump was calling him out on it, Biden’s allies were pushing to scale back campaign appearances, and articles were written about the mental acuity questions. His physician even talked to Politico to assure people that Biden was “every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change.”

Fast forward to now. Biden’s still a gaffe machine and again raising alarm bells with how he forgets things. All of a sudden, the same people wondering last year about Biden’s age and health don’t seem to be interested in discussing the issue anymore:

Knowing how the media and Democrats operate, the likely reason is that Biden won in South Carolina and had a big night on Super Tuesday. All of a sudden, Biden – the preferred candidate of establishment Democrats, well-known media figures, and Never Trumpers – now looks like a winner in those circles.

Because of that, they must protect their candidate from uncomfortable scrutiny.

But Republicans who are all too familiar with the games the left plays when it comes to age and health questions are making it clear they aren’t going to play by their rules:

“It seems like if you’re a Democrat in this country, your choice right now looks to be a socialist who is a communist sympathizer or Joe Biden, who I think a lot of folks legitimately, Ed, question his cognitive function in many cases,” [Lara Trump] said, addressing Fox News’s Ed Henry.

The campaign adviser, who is married to Trump’s son, Eric Trump, said she feels “nervous” when he goes to speak “that he’s not going to be able to coherently string a sentence together.”

“And if I feel that way, I think Democrat voters out there probably feel very nervous about him,” she added, citing a time when he forgot what state he was in and when he asked for support on “Super Thursday.”

On the flip side of this, the Sanders campaign is denying any knowledge of a mysterious memo that circulated on social media websites overnight on behalf of Sanders, and which referenced Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline.”

Sanders’ comms guy Mike Caspa told Newsweek it wasn’t theirs. “That’s not a real document,” he claimed.

Because Trump and his surrogates are not backing down on putting the issue back into the spotlight, Democrats like Clintonista Joe Lockhart are acting offended:

Oh really? Like Democrats haven’t gone down that road before by doing things like bringing in Yale psychiatry professor Bandy Lee to brief members of Congress on her opinions about Trump’s mental health:

Let’s also not forget the role the mainstream media has played in “diagnosing” Trump’s mental health from afar:

As the primary season wears on, Joe Biden is going to continue to do Joe Biden things. And if he ends up being awarded with winning the nomination, an even brighter spotlight will be shining on him when he goes off-script, regardless of how much the media tries to avoid the issue.

This is what happens after 3+ years of questioning someone’s mental fitness to lead. You can’t expect people not to turn those types of attacks back around on those who made them.

Sanders had a heart attack five months ago. Not a peep about his physical health?

This is too easy. Something else is going on with the Democrats.

You’re right. One thing I’ve noticed is that nobody seems to have noticed or commented on the fact that the Ukraine has opened an investigation into the Bidens’ corruption, and that all of the sudden rush to get Joe the nomination postdates that. It isn’t a stretch to think that the Dems will soon be demanding that the Republicans, who are also finally starting to look at the Bidens, cease and desist under the excuse that they’re trying to influence the election – as if that was a worthwhile excuse.

And right on schedule, Issa shows up on FBN effectively insisting that future nominees be immune from the sort of investigation that the FBI conducted against Trump.

Hey, its just Ol’ Joe walking around bumping into things.

“[Biden’s] physician even talked to Politico to assure people that Biden was ‘every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change.’”

I don’t think that that doctor was quite aware of what he was admitting.

Let the Leftists and Marxist Stream Media (but I repeat myself) support this man suffering from early dementia. He will make a fool of himself on the stump and in debates with President Trump.

IneedAhaircut | March 5, 2020 at 6:10 pm

Remember 4 years ago when Hillary Clinton was seriously ill and collapsed? CNN, NYT, etc will give Biden the same “I see nothing, I know nothing” treatment.

Joe Brains still has 8 months to provide us with entertainment if he is the nominee.

The media attacks every Republican as “dumb”, as if they are the smartest people on earth. Getting a degree in journalism and regurgitating information inaccurately is hardly a sign of great intelligence.

The only Republican since the ’50s whom they haven’t claimed was dumb was Nixon; his intelligence was too obvious, so instead they went with “evil genius”. They even used to portray Reagan as dumb, until his letters were published and it became obvious that he had been a serious intellectual.

Trump will never be an intellectual, but he is a serious, original thinker.

Those who have doubted it have been schlonged.

Trump is a problem-solver, which I think is a great capability in a President. Building large buildings all his life has to have helped, as lots of things have to go not quite right and you just have to deal with them. Trump’s involvement with the Wollman (skating) Rink in NY City is a wonderful example. The contrast with career politicians who have never run a business or built anything is stark. “The Art of the Deal” is accurate but incomplete. It is really “The Art of the Possible”, recognizing what can and can’t be done in any situation, which includes deals.

The VP of both candidates need to be addressed sooner than later. Heck, why not propose their “ideal” cabinet, especially since it looks like several spots may have been offered to those who dropped out.

The Deep State will return if Biden gets in.

They won’t need the 25th amendment. The DNC has until the electoral college meets on Dec 14th to switch candidates — and the new candidate does not have to be the VP candidate.

Technically correct, (if-and that’s a gargantuan if- SloJoe were to actually win) but so politically insane you might actually wind up with Electors voting for Trump.

The Party of Diversity is merely checking off another Intersectionality Bingo box: The Alzheimer-American Community.

It never left.

My impression is that Biden’s dementia has progressed significantly over the past year…..valid impression? If so, we are likely to see much more progression over the next seven months until the debates and then the Dems trying to carrying him over the election day finish line. How screwed up is that???

I was wondering about that nice Dr. Lee myself.. It seems she was interviewed by Mark Levin. Mark did ask about Joe Biden.. Here, if you are interested:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7404993/Psychiatrist-called-Trump-unfit-office-warns-Bidens-mental-health-not-perfect.html

In her opinion compared to Donald Trump he is quite better off.

No surprises there. FWIW I think they have the paperwork all ready to invoke the 25th amendment.

Just wondering the American Psychiatric Association agrees with her statement that sometimes it’s better to diagnose someone from a distance, and that it’s acceptable to diagnose someone without a personal meeting–I’ve never heard of such a thing, other than from the left who want to get rid of the President.

Psychiatrists and psychologists are, by their own admission, some of the most screwed up people in medicine. They are required ( or it is recommended) that they be seen by a colleague to keep them out of the weeds.
Bandy Lee is an unscrupulous ideologue, a self-called “expert” who really knows nothing.

“Joe Biden’s Age and Health Are Not Off Limits…” “It’s odd how the same people in media/Democrat circles who questioned Biden’s physical and mental health over the summer don’t seem interested in discussing it anymore.”

Stacey,
The days of indulging the corrupt parasites who would dictate ‘rules’ to us are over. WE dictate the narrative now.

biden will collapse under the weight of his obvious deteriorating mental state – the really BIG issue is his VP choice and who he surrounds himself with. Don’t be surprised to see a woman of color end up as his VP choice….harris and obama come to mind. The question for his VP choice is whether biden is damaged goods that might her their respective future aspirations

By hedging her bets on whom she will support, Warren possibly thinks she has a chance.

If Biden ends up as the nominee the presidential debates will be a hoot. Trump is in his element on the stage, thinking on his feet – can you imagine Biden being confronted by him? Biden is nothing if not creative when he’s off-script. I’m sure some new phrases will be born.

While I generally agree with your comment, Biden is a somewhat sympathetic character, “Uncle Joe”, who lost a son to cancer and appears to be facing dementia. Trump risks being perceived as a bully if he is not careful.

      B Buchanan in reply to jb4. | March 5, 2020 at 10:14 pm

Good point jb. The other potential pitfall is Biden could just end up looking really sad, like Mueller did. Both my parents had dementia and in the early stages one of the noticeable characteristics was how much slower their thinking became. They were still able to live alone but anything that required quick thinking (like driving?) was beyond them. I have confidence in Trump though – he is quick on his feet and he has great instincts. If Biden is pitiful I think Trump will back off.

I also have confidence the media will accuse Trump of all sorts of awful things. They have not let me down yet.

Note that Trump will get a good lesson on how to handle himself with the Biden vs Sanders debates. Sanders appears to have a bit of the big persona on stage that Trump has, although a bit more yelling and a lot worse policies.

Absent a real dementia moment, I am afraid Biden vs Trump will be close and the Dems will not lose the House, especially if the economy is much weaker and there are any more coronavirus miscues, like the testing kit issue. (I have said for years that I think Biden would have won in 2016, not losing states like PA, MI and WI.)

MajorWood in reply to B Buchanan. | March 6, 2020 at 1:14 am

They will both give Biden the questions ahead of tie and allow him to videotape a response while standing at a podium which they will then play back during the debate.

Joe is not going to be the candidate. When they finish off Bernie in the primaries, the can broker the convention without a street fight.

I do not see how if Biden has more than 50% on the first ballot. The super-delegates do not kick in until the second ballot.

Slow Joe’s stupid should be premiere on any list. Never has someone so dumb risen to this level without some sort of royal heritage. Though inbreeding would explain a lot.
